9 - Awkward

Hey!

So I'm suppose to update this chapter earlier but the power went off. We are currently experiencing a strong typhoon here in the Philippines and it's giving me the chills. Not as strong as Supertyphoon Yolanda though. We can feel our walls and floors vibrate everytime the wind blew. Seriously, it's true.

Anyways. Thanks again for the nth time in reading my story. Aha. I will never get tired of thanking you guys.

"Her what?!" Mom, Danni, and Ella exclaimed all together catching the attention of almost everyone who are near.

I face palmed, shaking my head in disbelief. I'm screwed.

I glared at Victoria who just smirked at me. God this girl! She may be my crush, but she has no right to out me in front of them, well not right now, one day, and I'm suppose to be the one who will spill the beans! Not her! Oh good lord, help me. They're gonna hate me.

I looked at my mom who looked back at me with a confused and questioning face. Shit, does she hate me? I was about to explain myself when Victoria, again, cut me off.

"I mean her "girl" friend. I'm her girl best friend, from school." She said now smiling sweetly still with her hand extended at my mom.

The girls' mouths formed an "o" and my mom sighed in relief. Wait, in relief? So she's not happy if I'm gay? Oh no. This is bad.

"Y-You got me there." Mom chuckled awkwardly. "I'm Anna, Nikki's mom. It's nice to meet you Victoria." She said then took Victoria's hand to shake.

"Likewise." Tori said.

I took the liberty of introducing Danni and Ella at her.

"Tori this is Danni, my older sister," I pointed at my sister then they shook hands. "And this is Ella, my roommate." I said as I point at Ella. Ella scowled at Victoria and Victoria smirked at her. After a few seconds of intense staring they shook hands as well. Okay? What's going on?

"Mom, I'm tired and hungry, can we eat now?" I said just to break this awkwardness in the air.

"Of course hun. Where do you want to eat?" She asked, forgetting the incident earlier. That's my mom, she quickly forgets everything when food is involved.

"How bout we eat pizza?" I suggest to everyone. They all nodded in agreement.

"Would you like to come and eat with us Victoria?" Mom asked kindly. Uh-oh. Why am I feeling nervous about this idea.

"Uhm. If it's not a bother to you guys, well why not." Victoria shrugged.

I don't know if it's just my mind playing tricks on me or what, but I think I heard Ella snort at what Victoria said.

"Okay we'll pay these first. Wait for us outside." Mom dragged Danni by her arm leaving me behind with Ella and Victoria, who by the way, had their arms crossed in front of their chest staring at me. Like they're waiting for me to say or do something.

Uhh. This is uncomfortable. Why are they acting like they hate each other? They just met for cat's sake! I ran a hand through my hair, which I don't know why I did.

"Uh. Let's go?" I said to both of them.

Ella sighed while rolling her eyes then walked towards me yanking my arm. Then Victoria rushed to my other side keeping her pace with us.

"And Nikki had this huge lump on her forehead for, I think a week." Mom said while drawing circles in her forehead.

"Yeah! She gave dad permission to cut her hair so she can have this ridiculous bangs just to cover it." Danni laughed being followed by the others.

"It wasn't my fault that stupid pole is there!" I hissed rolling my eyes. They continued laughing.

"Aww hun it's okay. You forgave the pole after a few days so it's cool." Mom teased.

"Mooom!" I whined. The four of them laughed again.

What? It's not the pole's fault either. It's an accident!

Anyways, here we are at Yellow Cab, pigging out ourselves with pizza and pasta while they talk about my klutziness from my childhood to present. Some are funny but some aren't. It's embarrassing!

But that's not all, I am in an awkward situation right now. I really have no idea why, but I am really uncomfortable. I'm here, seated in between these two gorgeous ladies. On my left, Victoria, who's giggling at mom's stories and smirking at Ella from time to time. And on my right, Ella, who's also giggling but shooting death glares at Victoria every now and then.

What the hell is wrong with them? If you're in my seat, you'll feel this tension between them. Like both of them are releasing invisible energies from their body, that in any moment, will explode.

I sighed silently but Victoria heard me. She leaned close to me then whispered if I'm okay. I nodded then gave her a reassuring smile.

I glanced at Ella's side after, still smiling, then it disappeared when I saw Ella staring back at me with a scowl on her face. The fck?

"May I please be excused?" She said addressing to my mother.

"Oh sure dear." Mom said. Ella stood up then stormed off towards the bathroom.

"Please excuse me too." I said without glancing at them then I walked towards the bathroom.

I opened the bathroom door then saw Ella leaning her hands and looking down on the sink. I walked towards her then cleared my throat. I think I caught her attention as she looks at me with a frown.

"Hey...what's wrong?" I asked softly as I place a hand on her arm.

"I-...nothing. I-I'm just not feeling well I guess." She sighed.

"Uhm... Do you want me to take you home? I mean, I didn't bring my car so, we'll take a cab." I smiled at her. I leaned my behind on the sink just next to her.

"N-no. It's okay. I'll just go home by myself. I... I don't want to bother you." She said. She turn the faucet on then washed her hands.

"You're not bothering me Ella. Besides, I can't stand mom's story telling anymore." I said chuckling.

"I gotta admit, you really are a klutz." She said giggling.

"Hey!" I playfully hit her arm and we both laughed.

We exited the bathroom laughing together then walked towards our table.

"Mom? I'll take Ella home, she's not feeling well." I looked at my mom then she nodded.

I glanced at Victoria who's frowning at me.

"Uhm. You're gonna be okay here Tori?" I asked scratching my blushing cheek.

Her frown disappeared as a smirk forms on her lips. "Yeah babe, I'll be fine. Besides, I think your mom has a lot more stories of you to tell." They chuckled then Victoria stood up.

She grab me by my collar softly, then planted a soft kiss on my cheek, well, millimeters from the corner of my lips. Then she sat back down grinning.

I blinked a couple of times in shock. That was the most shocking tease Tori did to me. I glanced at my mom and Danni who's mouth are slightly open. Shit. Why the hell did Victoria do that? And why in front of my family and Ella!

"I...Uh...we're leaving." I turned to face Ella who's mouth is also hanging open. She shook her head a little then nodded. She picked her bag from the chair then waved goodbye to my mom and Danni, then hissed at Victoria, who is suppressing a giggle.

Dammit Tori!
