Zander's POV

I stood there and watched her walk away. Why was she being so difficult? Is it that difficult to understand I genuinely like her? I figure she would have caught on by the teasing I did. Guess not.

I got on my bike and drove home. None of this made any sense to me. I pulled in and parked my bike, making my way into the house.

I walked in and sat down on the couch and threw my head back. Then I let out a frustrated scream.

"Problems," dad asked.

"Not anymore than usual," I replied with with a frustrated tone.

"Let me guess, Avery?"

"Who else? I don't get it. I tell her I like her and she tells me to pound sand. I show her I'm serious and she treats it like a joke. Why is she being so difficult," I asked in an irritated manner.

"Maybe she's trying to keep her heart from being broken," he shrugged.

"Huh?"

Dad looked at me, "Zander, all girls want a guy, they know are not going to break their heart. They want someone that give them the world. Avery is one of those girls. My suggestion, if you truly want to know how to win her heart is do the one thing you hate to do," he said to me.

"What's that?"

"Watch romantic movies," he suggested.

I looked at him as he looked at me. I rubbed my chin and thought about it. Romantic movies, eh? I guess it's better than nothing because right now I got nothing, except a headache from all the bickering we do.

"The Wedding Planner," I said as I looked at the movie in my hands. I shrugged and popped it in. Then laid down in my bed and hit play.

After I finished that movie I popped in Titanic next. As I watched it, I yelled, "don't let go Jack! Oh you let go," I said with displeasure.

I didn't know as I watched these movies my sister stopped and watched me.

Next movie was A Walk To Remember. I found myself balling like a big baby at the end. Although Landon and Jaime reminded me of Avery and myself.

Next came The Notebook, damn that Noah and Allie. Although the did give me an idea. Then I thought about it and this gave me an idea. Each movie I watched gave me an idea on how to prove it to Avery. I need to remember to thank dad later.

That's when I got to work. Operation win Avery's heart commenced.

I walked into school and opened my locker to find one single red rose laying on the shelf. I picked it up and inhaled the scent. Then I noticed the note. I unfolded it.

Love is like a flower, soft and beautiful.

I looked around. I didn't see anyone. Then a smile grew upon my lips. I placed it back on the shelf being extra careful with it but I took the note and placed it in my back pocket, before closing the locker door.

I wondered who left the flower in my locker along with the note. I wonder. Nah, no way he would do that. He doesn't know the first thing about romance.

At lunch I placed my earbuds in only to have a message pop up. I opened the message and it said play me. I pressed the play button and a video popped up.
