Zander's POV

I can't believe I fell asleep on the phone with Avery. I loved spending the day with her, getting to know her. Hearing her voice before falling asleep was actually nice. I've never fell asleep talking on the phone to a girl before. Usually I just text.

I woke up and noticed my phone was pretty much dead, so I threw it on the charger and let it charge. I made my way downstairs to grab some breakfast.

"How was your date," dad asked me as I strolled in and grabbed a plate.

"It was cool," I shrugged.

"Cool?"

"Yeah cool," I said casually as I loaded up my plate with food. I took a seat at the table as I ate.

"It sounds like it was pretty good considering I heard you talking on the phone last night," mom said nonchalantly.

"It was alright," I shrugged as I ate.

"Just alright," she asked with a look.

"Yeah," I said brushing it off.

"Zander you cheesehead! They are trying to ask you about your date and you being aloof is not helping! Give them something more than "cool" or "alright"," Violet mocked.

I stopped eating as the three of them stared at me, "okay fine, it was amazing. I had a lot of fun with Avery."

"What kind of fun," dad asked.

I looked at him and rolled my eyes, "the clean kind. Trust me, Avery is not that type of girl."

"Good because I would really hate to see Evan hurt you," he chuckled.

I just shook my head, "Avery is different. She is the type of person that has these ideals about love. It's hard to explain but I actually like it. I like the fact that when she gets frustrated she rambles. When she laughs, her eyes sparkle. How she is unsure of herself at times but confident in other times. How she views thing differently than most like how hand holding is important. The way she snuggles into me or wraps her arms around me, afraid of letting go."

I stopped and the three of them were staring at me.

"What?"

"I think someone is in love," dad said to mom.

"Yep," she agreed.

"You guys are crazy! I like her but love?" I sat there for a moment questioning them in my head.

"Well, the way you were talking about her, you only talk about someone like that, when you fall in love with them," dad reasoned.

I stared at him.

"Zander, deny it all you want but the truth is, you're in love with Avery. If you weren't, you wouldn't have gone through all this just for a girl," he told me.

I finished my breakfast thinking about what he said. Did I love Avery? I mean, she's the only one I have ever done something like this for. The only one I wanted to do these things for. Christ, I was even watching romantic movies to get pointers. Well, shit.

After breakfast, I took a shower and changed. I grabbed my phone and left the house. I wanted to confirm if what my parents said was true. Did I love her?

I pulled up to her house, got off my bike, albeit stumbling. Why the hell was I nervous?

I walked up and knocked on the door. The minute she answered it, I pulled her into a kiss. That's when it happened. That spark. That explosion. So many emotions were erupting at once.
