When I got home I did more research. Thanks to Ten Things I Hate About You, the serenading worked. Now onto more things. Let's see, what do we have for today. Dirty Dancing.

I hit play and watched it. As I watched it my parents walked in.

"Are you watching Dirty Dancing," dad asked.

"Shhh, I'm trying to get some ideas," I answered.

"Ooh I love Dirty Dancing," mom said taking a seat next to me on the couch as dad rolled his eyes.

We watched the movie together until the end.

"I always loved that movie," she sighed.

I sat there deep in thought.

"What's wrong?"

"I don't know how to dance like that," I said simply. "Every girl loves to dance but I don't know how to do all these moves other than basic steps. How am I going to impress Avery?" I was becoming frustrated.

"By learning how to dance like that," she suggested.

She stood up and held out her hand, "come on, I will show you." I stood up and she took my hand trying to teach me how to dance. Yeah it wasn't going well. I was becoming more frustrated by the minute.

"Goldie, what are you doing," dad asked.

"Teaching Zander how to dance. Now shush," she told dad. He rolled his eyes.

"Okay first, I had to teach you how to dance and you're still bad at it," he said walking over to us.

"Um thanks."

"I love you baby but you can't dance, no offense. Second, let me show Zander how to dance," dad told her. She stepped aside and he held out his arms. I looked at him like he was nuts.

"Do you want to learn how to to dance or not?" He gave me a look. I sighed and placed my hand in his, while placing my other hand on his waist. He put on hand on my shoulder and one on my other hand. This wasn't weird at all.

He instructed me on what to do and how to move. It took me a few tries while looking at my feet to get the hang of it. I had to admit, dad was really good at dancing.

As we danced, Violet came in with Diego and saw us, being a bit surprised.

"Do I even want to know," she asked mom.

"Your father is teaching Zander how to dance," she told her.

"That explains it," she said as mom did a double take and rolled her eyes.

Diego decided to help us out but teaching me some moves. Then Violet joined in pretending to be Avery so I could actually dance with a girl and not some old dude.

I figure if I asked her to homecoming then I could at least dance with her and not stand around like a cheesehead.

Which reminds me, I need to watch another movie to figure out how to ask her. So I popped in High School Musical. While watching it, this gave me an idea.

I was going to need help and lots of it. So I decided to enlist Violet's help along with others to ask her. It was risky but isn't someone worth the risk when you like them?

I walked to my locker and the halls were empty. Just as I opened my locker I heard music start to playing.
