I was released from the hospital and my parents brought me home. Being stuck in a hospital for so long, sucked. I was just glad to be home.
We pulled up to the house and dad helped me out of the car. He grabbed my bags and closed the door behind me. I slowly walked to the house. The doctor said it was going to take time to get my strength back and I would be less and less tired.
The door opened and Violet walked out, "come on pokey!"
"I'm coming pain!" I yelled as mom and dad laughed. I got to the porch and stopped. I needed to catch my breath.
"Zander?" They looked at me worriedly.
"I just need a moment," I said as I took some breaths. Once I was able to catch my breath, I made my way into the house as dad helped me. I walked in and stopped.
I looked to see the house all decorated and Avery standing in front of the Christmas tree. She walked towards me as I stood there.
"Welcome home cheesehead," she grinned. I reached over and pulled her to me, crashing my lips onto hers.
Mom looked at dad, "hey don't look at me. Evan can worry about this. I got Violet to worry about." He walked away as mom rolled her eyes.
"Well this is disturbing. I think I'm going to find Diego," Violet said as she left. Good. I didn't need an audience.
Once we were done sucking face for a while, Avery helped me to the couch. I took off my jacket and she took it from me.
"Don't think just because I'm being nice to you, you can use this to your advantage," she told me.
"When are you ever nice to me?"
"Hey I climbed a tree for you."
"Yeah so?"
"Do you know how hard it is to shimmy up a tree? Way hard. I don't know how they do it in the movies," she said emphatically.
"I didn't tell you to climb a tree. You did that all on your own," I shrugged.
"How about a little compassion? Or thanks?"
"Thanks that you didn't have to climb a tree," I said with a look. She gave me a look. We were arguing about a tree. Does this make sense to you? It doesn't to me.
"That was by far the most insincere thank you," she said.
"We're talking about a tree. I had open heart surgery. My thanks is I lived for you," I said with a look.
"You're forgiven," she shrugged. My girlfriend is a nut.
"How about you come sit with me, so we can watch a movie?"
"Are you going to feel me up?" She gave me a look.
"When I feel better, I'm going to do a lot more things then feel you up. Now get over her and cuddle me damn it," I ordered.
"Well if you insist," she shrugged.
She walked over and turned on a movie. Then she took a seat next to me as I wrapped my arms around her. Unfortunately, I fell asleep. What? I was tired. Apparently so did Avery.
