An Unpredictable Summer : Jack Dail FanFic

The little girl

-----Ray's POV-----

When I woke up I asked everyone what they wanted to do today. Selfie and Collin were going to stay at the hotel because Selfie didn't feel good. Prego probs. So Jack and I got ready for the beach and left.

The beach was about a 1 mile walk so instead of waisting money on a cab we decided to just walk.

We had to walk under This over pass to get to the beach. As we were walking we saw this little girl sitting there. She had to be about 2. She had her head down and she was crying.

I walk up to her "Sweetie what's wrong?"

She looks up and one of her eyes are purple and blue around it. She has a tear stained face and has big bruises and burns up and down her arms. She has blue eyes and curly blonde hair "I'm living here. My mommy abuses me and I'm haven't eaten in 4 days" she says choked up.

My heart drops. She's abused? I have to help her "What's your name hun?" I ask helping her up.

"Brooklyn" she says gratefully taking my hand.

"That's such a pretty name I'm Ray and this is my boyfriend Jack"

Jack gives her a little wave and takes her other hand. We walk down to the local diner and she tells me how her mom pulls her hair and burns her with hot irons. She beats her with a baseball bat and is super mean to her and calls her a mistake.

We sit down and eat and Jack and I sit across from her.

"What would you like to eat?" I ask her handing her a kid menu with crayons.

"What are pancakes?" she asks looking at the menu.

She never had pancakes?

"They're my most favorite food ever" Jack says smiling "There like tiny little cakes bur flatter and you put syrup over them"

A big smile forms across her face "Can I get those?!" she asks happily.

"Of course. You can get anything you want"

She smiles and orders those with a chocolate milk. She's so cute. She's really pretty too. For being 2 she's Is gorgeous.

"So what do you like?" I ask her as she eats her pancakes and drinks her milk.

"I've always have wanted to be a princess because there so pretty but my mommy said I wasn't worth it or gorgeous enough"

A tear slides down my cheek. "Brooklyn your prettier then any princess I've ever seen"

She smiles "Thanks"

When were done eating we bring her to the police station. It was the best thing to do. The police are going to hold her over night. They know exactly who the mother Is and the mothers going to go through court. They still need to find adoptive parents for Brooklyn.

I go to Brooklyn and I hug her "Good bye sweetie" I say picking her up and hugging her.

Brooklyn starts crying "No Ray don't leave me. I don't want to go back to my mommy."

"You won't you'll find a new nice family"

"But I want you" she said as the cops dragged her away.

The words hung in the hair for the rest of the night. I want you.
