Mingyu and Wonwoo sat on the couch of their dormitory, the latter cuddled up against Mingyu as they scrolled through their Instagram. Wonwoo was browsing through the comment of his most recent post of Mingyu, the first one he'd posted on the public account since coming out.
Reading the comments made him smile occasionally but there were the few that made his face fall and those ones were the ones that stood out to him most.
As if noticing his boyfriend's change in mood, Mingyu looked down to see what Wonwoo was doing that'd affected his mood. When he saw the boy scrolling through the comment section, he sighed and gently pried the phone from the older's grip.
"Wonu, you know it doesn't matter what they say, right?" Mingyu asked when the boy looked up at him in confusion. Wonwoo nodded but didn't say anything so Mingyu continued. "These people who say stuff, they don't matter. At the end of the day, we're the lucky ones. I mean, there aren't many idols who get to keep their career and their relationship."
Mingyu scrolled through the comments and deleted the ones that would upset the older boy. He showed Wonwoo the phone. "Look how much support we get, baby. Don't focus on the negatives when we've got so much positivity around us. We have fans who support us, and friends who support us."
Noticeably, Mingyu didn't say family. Wonwoo did have support from his but the same couldn't be said for Mingyu. It wasn't as if his family had outright shun him but after briefly visiting home, he could tell that things weren't the same. Contrary to Wonwoo's who had known about his sexuality since he was a teen and fully supported him.
"You always know what to say," Wonwoo murmured, wrapping his arms around the younger boy's waist and nuzzling his face into his chest. The only sounds in the dormitory were the soft, audible breathing of the two boys, the birds chirping happily outside and the muffled sound of Seungcheol's voice behind his room door as he spoke over the phone.
"We have to start getting ready just now," Mingyu mumbled, glancing at the wall clock, "I don't wanna get up, wish we could just stay like this all day." His arm around his boyfriend tightened and he tilted his head downward to kiss the top of Wonwoo's.
"Me, too." Wonwoo shifted so his whole body faced Mingyu and pulled his legs up. The brunet pulled Wonwoo closer and basically on to his lap, hugging him tightly to himself, basking in the warmth of him. "Don't wanna get up."
"We still have some time." Mingyu's cold fingertips stoked lightly up and down the side of Wonwoo's bare arm, making goosebumps raise on the latter's warm skin. "The first thing we have is at 12, we can go out for breakfast or make something here."
"Make something here," he said immediately. After revealing their relationship, they'd gotten a lot of backlash and though they'd managed to pull through and gained a lot of support, Wonwoo didn't like going out much. He never did but he disliked it even more now.
The taller man attempted to get up but the other's grip on him tightened as he did. Wonwoo was warm, he didn't want to let go of Mingyu. He figured that Seungcheol would go to the kitchen sooner or later and would end up making food for everyone. If not him then maybe Hansol would at least pour them some cereal.
Mingyu chuckled. "How should I make us something to eat if you won't let me go, babe?" Wonwoo explained his logic to him and he gave in, relaxing back into the other's warmth.
Just like Wonwoo had predicted, Seungcheol walked into the room, phone still in his hand and a bright smile on his face as he spoke. He stopped momentarily and told the man on the other line to hold on. "Morning," he said to the couple, "I'm making breakfast for Sol and I, you guys want?"
"That'd be great, thanks, hyung!" Mingyu replied, happy at the fact that he wouldn't have to get up for a little longer now, "Tell Jeonghan hyung I said hi!"
There was a noticeable blush on Seungcheol's face as he rushed into the kitchen, leaving Mingyu giggling at his flustered state. Even though they all knew about the relationship between their band mate and their close friend, Seungcheol was always shy about it. Whenever he spoke to Jeonghan, it was always behind closed doors, no matter what.
Hansol always found it pretty hilarious how flustered Seungcheol would get whenever his band mates teased him about his relationship. Hansol was quite the opposite of the leader, always bringing Seungkwan to their dorm at random hours of the day when they had off days.
Mingyu and Wonwoo were lucky enough to be able to show off their affection no matter where they were, although both of them preferred to keep the PDA to a minimum, just being joint at their hands when out of the dorm, perhaps sharing the occasional brief kiss.
And even though they'd gotten a lot of shit for it, and they knew that it would keep coming, they also knew that they had enough support to keep going, to keep fighting. They had people who loved them and they had each other. That was all that mattered to them.
