The High Priestess (II) is the second trump or Major Arcana card in most traditional Tarot decks. This card is used in game playing as well as in divination. In the first Tarot pack with inscriptions, the 18th-century woodcut Marseilles Tarot, this figure is crowned with the Papal tiara and labelled La Papesse, the Popess, a possible reference to the legend of Pope Joan.
Story:
Layla:
It's June 28, Saturday. Misaki is still missing, her mother said she was out to do some shopping and didn't went out of the village but we can't find her with just a few people. Reena and I decided to search separately to make it more easier.
My brother had some assignments and a project to do with Ken at their place, so we had no choice but to look for ourselves. I still have to give her that present but I can't leave it at her house, I want to give it to her in person.
I reached the town square, I looked at every inch on every area and every corner, I can't find her. I'm so worried...
The day ended without any sight of her and when we got home, she still wasn't there. Has she been kidnapped or something? No! I shouldn't think that far ahead.
We both went home after a failed mission in finding Misaki. I decided to give Joshua a call, since we never saw him for 5 days as well. I'm at my room, sitting on the edge of my bed. I picked up my phone and dialed Joshua's number.
Someone picked up, "Hello?" He asked. "Joshua? It's me. Layla Fountain." I said. "Oh, Ms. Fountain. Is something the matter?" He asked once more. "I need to talk to you." I added. "Tomorrow at the Dust Park, 2:00 pm. Be there." I said. "Sure... but what is it about?" He asked back.
"Just... please..." I said, as I calmed myself down. "Okay..." He said and we both hung up from the phone. I need to rest after a long day. I prepared to go to bed after I ate dinner.
I got myself on my pajamas and went to bed, but I can't sleep. I'm still worried about Misaki. Yet, I still managed to fall asleep after.
The next morning...
Joshua:
I wonder what Ms. Layla needs from me? Well, maybe it's about the Gardening Club, or it might be about Misaki. Has she told her about what happened last week? I chose my casual clothes since it's just a talk.
I wore a yellow jacket with a black shirt inside, blue jeans and my white rubber shoes. I went out after getting permission from my father.
It's 1:50 pm. Sunday. I went to the Dust Park and sat on a bench and waited for Ms. Layla. A couple of minutes passed by, and I heard someone hear my name. "Joshua!" repeatedly. I glanced at every direction and saw the girl walking up to me.
It's Ms. Layla. She's wearing a casual red shirt, blue skinny jeans and mini black heels. "Am I late?" She asked me. "Um no, I just got here a while ago." I said, well it is true.
She sat beside me but I'm nervous of what she's going to ask me. Is it about the club or something school related, or is it about Misaki? She spoke up saying, "Do you love her?" She asked me. "Misaki?" I asked back.
"Of course." She said, smiling. I need to be honest, "Yes." I replied. "Then... why did she cry? Did you say those words right?" She asked me. I'm getting more and more nervous, she might get angry, so I decided to be fully honest of myself.
"Yes. I want to court her, I'm having such a great time with her. I... wanna be with her. In Spain, I was never interested in love. I once was always asking the girl, and when I arrived here, she was the very first girl to ask me out. So I felt really happy, that someone finally noticed me." I said.
