When I arrived at lunch I got nasty stares from everyone and since I usually don't eat lunch, I decided to hang out in the drama room. No one uses this room I guess. I looked around the room, and traced my hands against the small stage. My fingers were soon covered in dust. It seemed like no one even knew this room existed—it was abandoned.
Then, I began to think why everyone stared at me like that.
I looked ugly,
I had something on my shirt,
A rumor,
Fake news about me,
I had something on my face,
Zayn.It was no doubt the last one. It was Zayn. How bloody stupid am I? Of course a guy like Zayn would never like me. He's just using me. Right? I snap out of my thoughts and the next bell rings. I barely had any time to think and lunch was already done.
I head to the Science room, or chemistry. I swear to god if I have another class with Zayn, I'm going to lose it. I step into class and see Jade, Leigh, and Jesy waving at me and signaling to sit over. As I pass by I see a few familiar faces.
"Oh no."
There they were the popular bitches. Zayn told me about his girlfriend and I saw her and her group sending daggers my way. If looks could kill, I'd be dead. But Zayn. His reaction when I walked by was different. He was smiling at me. My head was held low while my heart up in the sky.
I had no idea his girlfriend was smart, but then again she probably paid the teachers to give her classes with Zayn.
He smiled then winked. And he waved. His smile almost killed me, that gorgeous smile. Gigi on the other hand sent a glare towards him. I took a seat. I was next to Jade and Leigh. Then Jesy on the side of Jade. The boys in Zayn's chorus group were in front of us.
"Hi class. I'm Mr. Brigs. My rules are self-entitled; pass my class get an A, fail my class get an F. My quizzes are easy since I don't give any," a few laughs were heard from around the room but he continued, "I usually give projects. And since you guys are new, I'll give a piece of slack. Next week is when we'll get working. This week you'll get to know everyone." This class was going to be easy this week. I would never have though that the most prestigious high school in all of London would be so easy, especially science.
Science wasn't my best subject, nor was math but I tried my best to work my way to the top. I had to fight my way to be where I am. Absolutely nothing was handed to me on a silver platter, not happiness—nothing. My parents were never home and when they were, all they did was fight. My dad was either at his job or at a bar and my mom did her best to get out of the house. My siblings stayed with my aunt for the most part, sometimes staying at home. I went wherever my mom went, even if she insisted that I go somewhere else.
My mom did everything she could to send us to good schools, put a roof on our heads, put food in the table. That's why I strived. I wanted to do everything I could to make life easier for us. I got a full-ride scholarship so we can save money this year. It was only a year but it was worth it.
London brought us some amazing opportunities. My brother is graduating college, my sister is at an amazing junior high school, and my mom has an amazing job at the hospital.
Mr. Brigs got back on his computer and left us to do whatever we'd like.
Liam turned toward me and started talking. Louis and Niall were joking around with Leigh and Jes. Harry was talking to Jade.
"How do you like it here?" He asked. Liam's kinda sweet if I have to admit.
"Eh. Better than my last school." I answered earning, him to chuckle. Zayn was staring at us and I started laughing for no apparent reason.
