I'm Here [Dan Clermont]

[Y/N POV]

"(Y/n)! Do you want to come with me to the store? I have to get some food," my boyfriend, Dan, shouted from the other side of the locked door.

"No!" I shouted, muffled by my pillow.

"Anything you want me to get for you while I'm out?" Dan asked.

"More Kleenex boxes, please," I said, my eyes welling up.

"Okay baby. Is Zelda in there with you?" Dan questioned.

"Yep," I said.

"Okay, I'm leaving. Bye, I love you!" Dan said, before walking out the front door.

As soon as I heard the door shut, I bawled. Loud enough to where the Great Dane, Zelda, got scared and jumped a little bit. She whimpered, and walked over to me, trying to get my face out of the pillow.

"Go away, Zelda!" I sobbed. She whimpered once more before walking out of the bedroom that Dan and I shared.

My older brother, Jason, had recently passed away. He was in a car accident and was hit by a drunk driver. He was killed instantly...

Dan knows the relationship I had with my brother. After my dad died, Jason knew how much I was hurting. Jason was my best friend, my partner in crime, my go to, and now, he's gone.

I couldn't bear the thought much longer. I couldn't believe it. I sobbed even louder.

I suddenly hear the door open. Shit. Dan's back.

"(Y/n)? Baby? I'm back," Dan said.

He came to the locked bedroom door. "Can I come in, sweetie?"

My voice was choked. "Y-yeah, come in."

He slowly opened the door and dropped the bags of items at the door. He ran to me, clutching me in his arms. I instantly started sobbing again.

"Danny, I miss him so much," I said between sobs.

"I know baby, I know. Be strong. I know it won't be easy, but do it for Jason. Jason would want you to be strong and you know it, sweetie," Dan consoled me. He's right. Jason was a tough guy. The only time I've seen him cry or snap was at Dad's funeral. I knew he would've wanted me to stay strong.

"Thanks Dan. I love you," I said, burying myself in his chest.

"You're welcome baby, I'm here. It'll be okay," he said, kissing my forehead and hugging me tighter.

"Wanna go see the boys and play bean boozled?" He asked. He knew how much I loved and hated that game.

I laughed. "Of course, Dan." But then I remembered someone who I treated horribly for a few minutes.

Zelda.

I walked over to where the Great Dane was, on the couch sleeping. I gave her a kiss.

"I'm so sorry, Zelda. I love you, sweetie."

She yawned, and went back to sleep. Dan and I walked out the door, hand in hand.
