"Isn't the water nice baby." A man said.
"Yeah and what a beautiful day." His wife said. Selena and Gerald were humans, they come to the river to see the peace and beauty of nature. They were painters and one of their favorite things to do was paint nature, they felt like it they were giving back to Mother Nature. There was something that Selena has always wanted to paint but knows she never will, she wanted to paint her children. Sadly though, she will never be able to have children but she won't let that ruin her day.
"Come on babe, swim with me." She said as she started to get undressed.
"Do you know how unsanitary that water is." He said as she changed into her bathing suit and dove in.
"Come on live a little." She laughed. He sighed as he changed into some shorts and dove after her. She laughed as they splashed around. Suddenly in the distance, she saw a body floating.
"Hang on a second." She said as she swam towards it.
"Gerald it's a child!" She called as he helped bring it to shore. She put her head on his chest and heard a heartbeat.
"His heart is still beating, he's just not breathing." She said. After her husband performed three rounds of CPR, the boy sat up and threw up the water.
"That's it breathe." Gerald said. The boy sniffed and knew that they were human so he'd have to watch what he said.
"Hey buddy what's your name?" Gerald asked.
"My name is Alexander." He said.
"Can I call you Alex?" Selena asked. He nodded.
"So Alex, how did you end up in the river."
"Well we-" He froze and looked around.
"What are you looking for?" Gerald asked.
"Where are they?
"Where are who?" Selena asked.
"My brother and sister, the three of us fell in together. Did you find them?" They shared a worried look.
"We didn't know but we will find them." They dove into the water and split up, and after a couple of minutes Selena found Kaden and Gerald found Eliza. The three of them were fine, they were a little shaky but they were okay.
"So how did you end up in the water?"
"My mother, Alex, Eliza, and I were having a picnic up the river when wolves attacked us. My mother told to jump into the river, the wolves killed her."
'Do you think they will find us.' Eliza asked.
'No, it's werewolf law that wolves stay away from humans. Everyone has to follow that law.' Alexander said.
'Not us. We won't ever return to the werewolf world.' Kaden said.
'Yeah.' Eliza and Alexander said. Selena heart instantly opened to these children. She engulfed them into a hug.
"You poor babies. I can't imagine what you guys have been through." She said. When she released them, her husband put his hand on her shoulder.
"Wait right here, I need to talk to my wife. Don't move, alright." The triplets nodded, eager to have some time alone. Once they were out of earshot Gerald said
"What are we going to do with them?"
"We take with us! Don't you see, these are the kids we've been praying for."
"What if they have family looking for them." They looked at them.
"How about this, we give them a year and if no one claims them then we adopt them."
"Okay. Where are they going to leave until then."
"We are going to foster them."
"Alright." When they turned the triplets were gone.
"Kaden, Alex, Eliza!" Selena asked. They looked around they found wading down the river.
"What are you guys doing?" Gerald asked.
"We have to keep moving if we are going to be able to find shelter before nightfall." Alexander said.
"No, no, no, you don't have to do that. You guys are going to live with us." Selena said.
"Really?" The triplets asked in unison.
"Yes, but we're going to make a quick stop first." Gerald said.

They went to the police station and reported three found kids. They waited there all day but nobody came. With the police permission they took them home. They were going to fill out the paperwork later. When they got home, the triplets were passed out. They placed them on the guest bedroom bed, it was large enough for the three of them to sleep on.
She cuddled into Gerald as she watched them sleep. She had a good feeling about these kids.
"I want to paint them." She said as she ran and grabbed her isle, paint, and paintbrush. It took her three hours to recreate the scene in front of her. She smiled as she let it dry. They were about to go to bed when they heard frightened whimpers coming from Eliza.
"No! Stop! Mama! Please come back! Don't leave me! Stop! Mama! MAAMMAA!!" She sobbed. Gerald shook her awake as Selena comforted her.
"Don't worry, you guys have me now." She said. She sniffles into her.
"I'm sorry. I just miss my mom." She said.
"Don't worry. We'll never leave you guys." She said.
"Thank you." She sniffed. "Thank you."
