Chapter 12..
"She okay?"
"Yeah, just.. Slendy hit her hard this time.."
"I'm going to kill that freak."
"No chance Jack, he's immortal.. Like us I guess, but it'd be so much easier without him."
"I know.. Why doesn't he leave her?"
"He wants her. He wants her to be like us, simple really."
"Jeff.. You better be joking,"
"I'm sorry.. Sally told me.. What would be so bad about her becoming one of us anyway? You could be together forever and all that.. She's already turning.."
"Don't say that."
"What! She is! She's pulled knives out on me. She's not scared anymore.. Well, a little but not of us."
"She's too... Her. Too pure, kind... She has a family Jeff. I will not take that away from her."
"What if she takes it away from herself?"
"I-I don't know. But not yet at least. Not yet,"
My head was pounding.. My eyes, heavy..
"She needs to wake up Jeff.. The longer she's out, the more it'll hurt to wake up.. The more chance of not waking up." Jacks voice was stern, I had no idea who else was in the room, myself.. Jack and Jeff. I couldn't hear anyone else?
"Wake her then, I'll be outside," I heard a door open and close quietly, footsteps fading away,
"Sammy?" Jacks voice was close.. I could feel his breath on my face, my eyes fluttered open to see a blue mask near me..
"Hey.."
"How's your head?" Was he genuinely concerned?
"Hurting.. Where are we?" My surroundings.. They didn't look familiar..
"Hidden.."
"My family? They're okay?"
"Yes. They're fine. BEN is watching over them," I nodded, looking around I noticed things.. No natural lighting.. Only candles. The walls were logs, so I guessed we were in the cabin?
"Good." I muttered, trying to divert my mind to other places, "Jeff?"
"He's fine. Pissed. But okay. Why were you out there alone with him?"
"Okay.. And he looked after me?" I thought it was obvious..
"Mmm.." I watched as Jacks head inclined, he was looking at my wrist, my bracelet..
"I remember.. May I see yours?" I asked quietly, sitting up cross legged as Jack knelt on the floor.
Jack placed his hand onto my lap where I slowly lifted up his sleeve to reveal the bracelet..
Everything was still intact.. The string was fraying slightly. But other than that, no beads were missing, none broken..
"Wow," I sighed. I placed my wrist beside his, looking at the bracelets together..
"I don't recall ever taking it off, unlike you.." Ouch.
"Surely you did? For school or something? That's the only reason I took mine off.. Was for school and it took too much time to put on, also afraid of losing it. So I naturally put it somewhere I knew it would be safe." Smartass answer..
Jack just shrugged and removed his hand. Sighing I looked around the room I was in again, nothing new.. Few bugs scattering around the floor which gave me shivers,
"You cold?"
"No, no! Just bugs aha! Not cold.." I looked down at my arms to reveal goosebumps.. I couldn't feel any cold?
"Have my jacket." Jack stood then, he lifted off his grey hoody and passed it to me, I held it in my lap.. Not wanting him to get cold because of me..
"I'm good, I don't want you getting cold!"
"I don't, I just wear it!" I could he's smugness in his voice.. I wasn't not going to end up wearing it..
Exhaling heavily, I slipped the jumper on and lay down again, feeling my arms warm up again.
Feeling my eyes droop, I sighed gently,
"Sleep Sam,"
"Nah, I'm alright!" I stuck my thumb up to him
"Sleep,"
"Not tired!" I couldn't ignore my heavy eyes, but I really didn't want to sleep with these bugs, in a weird room, which is surrounded by god knows what because I was clueless as to where I actually was..
"Sam.."
"Fine! But will you stay in here? This place gives me the creeps.."
"Of course.." His voice softened, "Where am I allowed to sit or lie?"
"Wherever.. I mean Jeff slept next to me the other night.." Shit. Probably shouldn't have said that..
"Oh right. Okay," Jack stood and easily leapt over my body on the bed I was lay in to land carefully next to me. He also slipped his arm around my waist.. As did Jeff.. A protective instinct I guessed..
"Night Sammy.." I heard his whisper in my ear,
"Night Jack.." I replied, voice kit as quiet..
I was comfortable.. Ish.. But I was afraid.. Not of Jack or Jeff, BEN or Sally.. Of course I was afraid of Slenderman..
But I was afraid of not knowing where I was, not knowing if my family was okay, and not knowing what I was.
I wanted to go home.
