I awoke the annoying blare of my alarm clock. I soon remembered that I had been skyping with Dylan the night before so I slammed my alarm clock quickly, hoping he didn't wake up, which he didn't. I looked on my laptop screen. He looked so peaceful while he slept.
I felt the stickiness from tears on my face, which called for a quick shower. I dried my hair, straightened it, added makeup, then put on a shirt, shorts, and ended it with my Toms. I gave one look in my mirror, then at my clock, noticing I still had thirty minutes before I even had to leave.
I soon received a text from Layla, offering a ride with her and her mom. I accepted and she told me that she'd be there in a few since we were having a coffee stop. I got my bookbag and went downstairs. "Hey mom, Layla and her mom are picking me up for school!" I yelled, sitting down on the couch. "Alright!" she yelled back.
I decided to check twitter. I replied to some people, rted some people and then finally tweeted: "Ehh, yesterday could've been better.. Today should be good.. maybe. #school" I was about to lock my phone but I received a text from Dylan: "Hey beautiful! Have a good day today, and don't forget to smile ALL DAY no matter what. I wanna see that smile on skype tonight. Love you;)" I replied: "Hey babe :) Well, this started my day of with a smile, thank you for this really. I love you too, see you tonight (:"
I heard a honk outside, I instantly popped up and made my way outside. I saw that Layla's brother took the front seat so I was sitting in the back with Layla. I pulled out some money and gave it to her mom, even though she didn't accept it. We got coffee from Starbuck's and we were off to school.
When we got there, I went to my locker, got my books out, and made my way to homeroom. On my way to homeroom, I was stopped by Cole once more. "Hey, I didn't get to take you home yesterday. Would you like a ride today?" I felt like rolling my eyes, but I didn't wanna seem rude. "Sorry, can't. I have a lot of things to do today with my mom." He pursed his lips, nodded his head, and walked away.
Once he was far away, I let out a long sigh and rolled my eyes. I finally got to homeroom and I sat with Layla. "Hey." She said. "Hi." We made small talk until the first bell rang. The next few classes seemed to take forever. It was finally lunch time. I waited for Layla by the door. We went in together, got our lunch, and found a seat with some of our other friends.
Cole and some of his friends walked by our table and Cole winked at me. I wasn't gonna let myself be his next victim, I wasn't gonna take any 'rides' from him or anything. I would ignore every sign he'd try to give me, I'd keep my mind on Dylan, and have a smile on my face. But then I remembered the talk with my mom and dad yesterday, which instantly made me more disappointed.
I picked with my food, staring down at the table thinking. "You okay?" Layla asked. "Yeah, I'm fine." I said with a sigh. Lunch was over, just a few more classes to go. I kept staring at the clock on the wall in my final class, then finally, the bell rang. I stood up, packed up my things, and started to make my way out. I got into the hall, ran to my locker, and started stuffing things in it.
"Hey beautiful, you sure you don't need a ride home." Cole asked, putting his hand on my back. "Um, no thanks." I pushed his hand off of me, I noticed there was hardly anyone in the hallway. Great, just great.
"Come on, babe. Just let me take you to your house this one time." He said, getting closer and closer. "Don't call me that, and go away." I shoved past him, moving quickly outside to my mom's car. "What's wrong? You seem shaken up." "I'm fine, can we just go please?" I asked, pulling out my phone. I just wanted to go back to Ohio. That's all I wanted. To be in my old house again, my old school, to have my old friends, to see my boyfriend all the time.
We finally got home, I went upstairs. I called Dylan for the heck of it. He answered after two rings. "Hello?" "Hi." "Oh hey baby. How was today?" I could feel his smile through the voice. Man, I loved to hear his voice. "Better than yesterday, haha. How was your day?" "It was alright, I start school tomorrow though. Yay." I laughed. "You'll be just fine. I miss you." "I miss you too, baby." He said it in the most comforting voice he'd ever spoke in. I just wanted to hug him.
After about an hour of talking, my mom needed help in the kitchen. "I gotta go help my mom." "Alright, skype me tonight? Like later on?" "Alright, I will. I love you so much." "I love you too, never forget that." I hung up with a smile on my face and I went downstairs.
