A few hours was well spent with all of their amazing fans. Some of them even recognized me which really made me feel good. I met some of the amazing fans of Dylan's that had talked to me just about everyday, like Maty, Alice, Deena, and a bunch of others. There was one that I met that was really close to all of them, but I didn't really know her. All I knew was her name, which was Jessica, and she didn't act too fond of me.
When I was talking to Dylan, she would glare at me. It made me get uncomfortable at times. I'm not saying that I was expected to be loved by everyone, but I was just, you know, a tad bit confused. What had I done? "Hey, Jessica. How's it going?" I tried to make peace and start a conversation. "Hi.. I'm doing just fine." She didn't make eye contact with me, she just looked past my shoulder.
After a few seconds, I decided she didn't want to talk anymore, I just walked over to Dylan. "Hey Dyl." I said, not trying to get in his way of hanging out with other people. I had pretty much tried to keep my distance most of the time since I wasn't really sure what to do. It was nice that I was meeting so many people, but I still think it would have been better if I had just stayed home.
Many, many, hours later, it was finally over. "I'll meet you at the car." I said over my shoulder, walking with Cray to the car. "Okay, I just gotta get my things. Go ahead!" I walked to the car with Cray and we got in. We waited for about 10 minutes and Dylan still wasn't out here. "Do you mind if I go try and find Dylan? He should have been here already." I asked Ed and Stacy. "Yeah, we're starting to get a little worried."
I opened up the door and got out. I walked into the venue and there was just a few security guards and clean up crews. I spotted Peyton and Layla talking to one of the security guards and I went up to them. "Sorry to interrupt, but have you seen Dylan?" I asked Layla. I wasn't really interrupting anything because Peyton was doing most of the talking. "Yeah, he went through the door right there, I think some girl followed him in there." She said. "Okay, thanks Layla!" I said, walking towards the door.
'Great, the girl has probably called her friends or something and Dylan's trapped.' I thought to myself. I walked into the door. The security guard looked up, but he had recognized me so he didn't really pay attention. I went through the hallways. "Dylan?" I said in a normal toned voice. I pushed open one of the cracked doors. "Dylan?" I asked again. But I actually couldn't believe what I was seeing.
Jessica and Dylan were kissing. Not just like, kissing cheeks, I mean mouth action. I felt my heart fall to the floor. "Sorry if I interrupted anything." I tried not to make myself sound hurt, I mean, nothing was between me and Dylan but friendship. I shouldn't be hurt.
I walked out and I heard footsteps behind me. I felt tears coming to my eyes, this couldn't be happening. Dylan was right behind me. I didn't want him to see me cry over something like this. "Aubree. Bree. Breezy?" He called after me. He finally took ahold of my arm, but I shrugged my way through his grip. "What?" I asked, biting my tongue, hoping I wasn't going to cry in front of him.
"You're mad." He said, like he had just read me like a book. "I'm not mad." "Yes you are. Aubree, we've been bestfriends for years. I know when you're mad." "Just leave me alone." I said, turning around but he ran in front of me. "Aubree, you're gonna have boyfriends, I'm gonna have girlfriends. We promised we would never get mad about this." "That ISN'T the point, Dylan." "Then what is it?" "The point is.." I couldn't think of a way to actually finish the sentence.
I dodged through Dylan. "Wait! Tell me what the point is?" I stopped for a moment, catching my breath. I was already feeling the tears fall from my eyes. "Just one question.." I started as I turned to face him. His face was right there, his sparkling blue eyes looking into my sad, crying ones. "Did those kisses mean anything to you?" Before he could answer, I turned around and ran out...
