Side Kick? No, Partner (Peter Parker x Reader)

Chapter 3

Peter let out a small yet awkward chuckle. "dont worry about it. I'm not really a judgmental kind of person. Or at least that's what I like to think..." he replied shyly. You smiled and shook your head.

"So far Parker. You have my seal of approval. And by this small conversation we are having I think I can safely say that you are a pretty nice guy." You replied. Peter smiled and was about to continue until you were called out to answer an equation that everyone was learning. Luckily enough, you knew the material pretty well so you want on and explained how to do it and also solved the entire equation. Everyone turned to look at you either judgingly or surprised even. Some obviously wanted you do their home work for them. You could just tell by the look in their eyes. "Yeah yeah. Call me a nerd or know it all or whatever. Kinda expected that when i was told i was coming here..." You muttered the last bit to yourself.

"Well Mrs. (L/n). On the test that's coming up, I'll give you extra credit. Anyway, I want all of you to try these six problems and I'll come around to check them and if anyone needs help." Mrs. Leo said as she has problems written up on the board. You rolled your eyes and did them without ease. You could certainly say you were smarter than an average person but you also weren't Albert Einstein or Elon Musk either. Once done, you flipped the pencil from finger to finger while you leaned back in your chair that was rather uncomfortable. Peter glanced over to you.

"You seriously ready finished?" he asked amazed. You smirked and nodded.

"Yep. The person who takes care of me was a doctor. He was a pretty intelligent one at that. He taught me everything I know." You explained. Peter frowned. Probably at the fact you didn't say 'dad'. "Yes Peter. I'm an orphan." You said before he could ask.

"I'm... Uh... I'm sorry to hear that. At least you have someone taking good care of you, right?" he asked trying to make light of the conversation.

"Yeah i do. I couldn't have asked for anyone better." You said. You didn't want to tell him your full on back story. You don't fully trust him after all. Before anymore awkward conversation could go on any further, the bell rung and you left to your other classes with Peter until lunch came around. You had brought your own lunch and sat alone. Well... That was until some popular people came around.

"Hey you should come to my party Friday night~" a boy asked you.

"Your flash, right?" You asked looking at him with a bored expression.

"The one and only."

"Okay well first of all. Your ego is ridiculous. Secondly, you need to work on flirting and lastly, your the last person i trust. However I will take the party into consideration since im able to talk to anyone but you. Cool? Cool." You immediately shot him down and all the other popular people fell silent. Flash scoffed and walked off. Everyone else following behind except for one person. "Aren't you going to go with him?" I ask.

"Oh h-hi Liz!" Peter jumped in before the girl could even speak. She smiled to Peter gave him a wave.

"Hi Peter. Also no I'm not going to follow him. I figured I would get to know you." The girl named Liz spoke. You studied her for a moment before tapping the spot next to her. "Thanks." she said before sitting down next to you. "Anyway. My name is Liz Allen. Welcome to Midtown High." she said as she held a hand out. You took it in yours and shook her hand.

"(Y/n)(l/n). And thanks. I also didn't expect you to want to talk to me." You replied honestly as you moved your attention to your food.

"Because I'm popular I assume?" she asked. You nodded since you couldn't speak with your mouth full. Another person sat down and you assumed him to be Peters friend. You also noticed how Peter would stare at Liz lovingly and with a light dusting spread across his cheeks. "Don't worry. I'm not like them. I actually don't agree with everything everything they do or say. Oh! Peter." she said turning her attention to the awestruck boy. Though he snapped out of it before her eyes even met his.

"Oh uh... W-whats up?" he asked clearly nervous and shy.

"You and Ned can come to the party I'm planning on having Friday. All three of you are more than welcome." She informed as her eyes scanned all of you. Peter let out a bright smile.

"Y-yeah! Sure i totally show up!" he exclaimed happily. This means that if you go, you can still keep watch of Peter and see him hopefully turn into spider man like Tony wanted.

"Well since you gave a nicer approach to inviting me. I don't see why I wouldn't go." You replied with a smile.

"Cool! I'll see you guys there." she said as she got up and returned to her group. You turned to Peter who kept watch of her. You smirked.

"Looks like Peter has a crush~" you teased. Peter snapped out of it and blushed madly.

"Wh-what? N-no- I don't know what your talking about." he stumbled on his words. You and Ned laughed and proceeded to tease Peter.

The end of the day finally arrived and Peter went home though you followed him in secret so he would eventually turn to Spider-Man like Tony wanted you to do. You ended up following him to an ally way in which he quickly changed into the spider suit and shot his webs after he heard a scream off in the distance. You went into the ally and turned invisible before following him as best as possible. You stood on top of the building opposite to the building that's in flames. Peter flew in surprisingly avoiding the flames. It seemed to have take him a while to get out there and you were ready to change to Azul but he came out holding an old woman and a orange tabby cat. He placed them safely on the ground and flew off in the possible direction of his home. You decided to ignore it and you made way to an empty Ally and teleported back home. Or at least very close to it. You growled and walked the rest of the way home.
