Chapter 12

Phoenix's POV:

"Oh my gosh Scarlett! Look how big you got!"

"Mom! Stop yelling, your going to piss of the neighbors again!"

The smile never got off my moms face. She walked over to Scarlett and hugged her. I haven't seen my mom this happy in forever.

Scarlett's cheeks got really red and that's when I pulled them apart. My mom looked pissed.

"Phoenix!"

"Mom! Can I talk to you, outside for a minute?"

My mom said "I don't know, can you?" Scarlett giggled. "Mother, may I talk to you outside please?"

"Why yes you can son." Scarlett was laughing. I said to her that she can go into the living room and sit down. "Make your self at home."

I took my mom outside and said "I like her a lot and I want to ask her out. What should I do?"

She looked like she was going to explode. I was a little nervous. "Mom are you-" I was cut off by her screaming!

"MOM!" "Oh sorry! I always knew this was going to happen."

I was confused. "What?"

"Well its obvious. You always babbled on about how pretty she looked-"

"Okay Mom, thank you. And I already told her that I liked her. But I didn't ask her out."

"Oh."

We went back inside and Scarlett was on her phone. She looked up and smiled at me.

"Hey!" She sounded so happy.

"Guys dinner!" My mom yelled

She is so loud!

We sat down to eat. I sat down next to Scarlett and my mom was sitting across from us. "So Scarlett, how are you?" "I'm good. You?" "Great. What about Nicole and your parents?"

"They are great."

After that my mom said "I wish I could hang out with your mom again."

Scarlett stopped and just looked at her food. "Then why don't you?"

Oh no

"Because she changed her number or something."

"We live right next door." My mom looked up surprised. I thought they were going to get into a cat fight or something.

"Oh my gosh! Yes! I don't know why I haven't just walked my butt over there. Sorry!"

I feel so uncomfortable.

"Its fine, and my mom really misses you too."

"Does she really!?"

I said "Okay Mom! Thank you foe making everything weird for everybody!" I took Scarlett's small hand and dragged her to my room.

I should have cleaned it before I went to dads.

She sat down on my bed and started laughing.

"What? Is it my room? I will clean it right now-"

She said "No, its not your room. I heard everything you were talking about outside with your mom."

What the- Oh Damn

"And yes I will go out with you Phoenix."

I was so happy! But it didn't feel right.

"No. I need to ask you."

She looked up confused.

"Scarlett Rose, will you go out with me?"

"I don't know, let me think."

She put her finger on her chin and said "Yes."

We both were laughing. She looked at the clock and stopped.

6:57 pm

"I need to go! Text me!"

She opened the door and yelled "Thanks again for tonight!" My mom yelled "Anytime Sweetheart!"

My mom was practically screaming.

I watched her walk out, but her parents weren't home. So I texted her

Phoenix: Where are your parents?

Scarlett: I don't even know. The door is locked. I guess I'm just waiting outside.

I couldn't let her stay out there alone.

Phoenix: You have a choice, you can come back to my house or I can come over and hang out with you until your parents come home.

Scarlett: Umm its up to you.

My mom is way to loud for me sometimes. I'm going to see Scarlett.

Scarlett's POV:

It gets really cold at night. I'm in Phoenix's shirt and shorts.

And its really dark outside.

I was on my front stoop waiting for Phoenix to come over. Trust me I already checked but the front door is locked.

And I already text my mom and asked her why she isn't home and she said they were at my grandparents house.

The thing that really pisses me off is that, she says be home at 7 and she's not even home. The least she can do is keep the freaking door unlocked. Oh wait .... nevermind. I was "At Rachel's house"

Then why didn't she just give me the key? I don't know.

When I looked to my right, I saw Phoenix. He looked really good.

He walked over to me a kissed me on the cheek.

He said "So what's up?" "Well I'm really cold."

He started laughing. He took of his sweat shirt and handed it to me. I laughed and said "Thank you." "No problem."

"Phoenix. Thank you for bringing me along to your dads. I had a really good time." "Your welcome. And me too."

I really like him. I still don't know if I should trust him or not.

I don't know what to do.

Then my parents pull up in the drive way. Phoenix was about to leave put I said "Wait, what about your clothes?" He said "Just give it to me when we are walking tomorrow."

I'm good with that.

He gave me another kiss. But this time, my dad saw him do it.

Phoenix walked away. And my dad got out of the car and looked at me surprised.
