The Boy Next Door

Chapter 3

Finally I'm home from school. So I can see Phoenix and....... Sophia. Why all of a sudden is she here all the time. Phoenix was showing her all the things he has in her garage. Phoenix was into motorbikes and whatnot. Its so hard to sleep at night with all the noise. He stays out in the yard past midnight making all that noise. I can't take it. Its driving me crazy!

I tried to ignore Phoenix and the noise, so when I finished my homework I watched Back to the Future. I am a nerd when it comes to that movie. That's all I watch on Friday nights. Oh my fiddlesticks that noise. Shut up!

All the noise stopped. When I looked out the window Sophia and Phoenix were looking at me.

Did I say it outloud? Oops

"Sorry! Wrong person I was talking to my brother!"

Phoenix said "Scarlett you don't have a brother." We haven't talked in 4 years and that's the first thing he says to me?

"Oh ya I ment my sister." Phoenix just shook his head and laughed. When I walked away, I heard Sophia say "Is that loser really your neighbor." When I looked back out the window Phoenix's face was red. He said "Whats wrong with her?" I felt my cheeks getting hot. She said "Nothing" then looked at me again with that back-off-he's-mine look again. So I looked at her and raised my eyebrows. She just rolled her eyes and looked down at Phoenix and kissed him on the cheek. Then looked at me. I just looked away. Annoyed.

This is going to be a great year.

I don't understand why she is trying to make me jealous because she's not...... gosh. He IS hot and really good looking, but still I'm not jealous.

"Why are your cheeks so red Scarlett?" My sister Nicole. She's always following me around. Damn. Give me some space. "What are you talking about?" She looked at me like I was crazy. "Whatever" She was 8 years old and had an attitude. She had hair like mine, very curly. Sometimes our hair is so curly we can't even brush it. When I walked into my room. She followed me into MY room.

Ever hear of personal space NICOLE!

"Whats up Nicole." She walked next to me and sat on the edge of my bed. "Nothing I just wanted to talk to you."

She never "just wants to talk to me"  She wants to know something.

She said, "So where you watching your boyfriend next door?" I was so mad. Why does she care if I'm looking out the window? " No Nicole, I was talking to my.... friend" She said " And what would her name be." "Her name is Sophia, I met her at lunch. Can you believe it Phoenix is in my gym and lunch period." She said "Wow I really don't care that your boyfriend is in your gym and lunch period." "NICOLE FOR THE LAST TIME HE IS NOT BY BOYFRIEND!"  My mom came running in my room. "Scarlett Rose I thought we talked about not yelling in the house." "Sorry mom."

My mom had long brown hair that she always put in a ponytail. I wish I had her hair sometimes.

My mom finally said before she walked out "Oh girls dinner will be ready in 5 mins." Nicole and I both said "Thanks"

In my quietest voice I said to Nicole "He's not my boyfriend because he's dating my 'friend' Sophia." She looked at me and said "Oh." So she got up and walked away. When she walked away I threw myself on the bed and thought to myself while Sophia was giggling away and Phoenix making all this noise

Why would Phoenix date her. She's nasty and looks like a slut. When Phoenix and I were younger we would always talk about who we were going to marry and what they would look like. He never talked about something like, her.

"Scarlett dinner is ready!"
