Set For Me! (Oikawa)

Before I start, this one-shot needs some background information. Reader-chan is Kageyama's younger sibling by a month, meaning they are in the same grade and used to stay and watch their practice in middle school. Reader-chan wants to become a setter like Oikawa and wants him to teach them how to serve. Also, this is an angst oneshot and has a really crappy ending.

It was a normal day for (Y/N), watching the boy's volleyball team and waiting for Tobio to finish practice.

"Tooru, can you teach me how to serve like that?" (Y/N) asked him as usual and like normal, he responded with: "why don't you ask your brother since he's so good at it?"

"He's to strict and I can never concentrate when I practice with him," (Y/N) responds with as normal. They never knew why Oikawa would never set for them and whenever the boys got done with practice, Oikawa got swarmed with fangirls so no one could get in a 5 foot radius of him during that time.

The next day, (Y/N) seemed extremely depressed, to the point they wouldn't talk to anyone on the team and seemed almost lifeless, completely quiet during club time and after when it was time to leave. This continued for about a week before Iwaizumi cornered (Y/N) and asked them what was wrong with them and what caused it.

"(Y/N), what's wrong? You've been so quiet this whole week and you seem lifeless. Everyone on the team has noticed and people are always asking what happened. So tell me what happened." Iwaizumi pried and trapped them in a corner.

"It's nothing, I've just been thinking about stuff. No need to worry about me, I'm not important. Pay attention to your team and the players, not a random person that's just related to one of the players." (Y/N) responded and put up a weak façade.

Iwaizumi left it at that and walked away, not before saying, "tell us if anything is bothering you." With those few words, he left to go home. Kageyama back over to (Y/N) and they left.

(Timeskip to the first year of highschool)

((Y/N)'s POV)

It was my first year of high school. I got into the same school as Tobio and now I was one of the managers for the volleyball team. Being with the team is really fun. Everyone is really nice and there aren't any boys that get swarmed with girls, unlike middle school *cough* Oikawa *cough*. I got broken out of my thoughts when Takeda came over and we went to assemble around him.

"We have a practice game against Seijo next week. Let's do our best and practice lots!" Takeda announces excitedly to the team.

"Alright!" Everyone yells as Kageyama comes over to me.

"What's wrong Tobio?" I ask him, concerned.

"Most of my old teammates are on that team which means Oikawa and Iwaizumi are there. Will you be ok if Oikawa is there?" Kageyama informs me quietly and I fall into one of my quiet states again.

"Yeah. As long as he doesn't try to talk to me I'll be fine," I respond quietly and look down. Suga walks over to check if everything is ok and Tobio explains the stuff that happened in middle school. He and Suga talk for awhile and I zone out a little.

(After they arrive at the gym)

"Woah! They have a female manager!" One of the boys says in surprise and looks at Kiyoko.

"And they have a (Y/G) manager!" One of the other boys exclaims as I walk by with my team, staying close to Yamaguchi. We get into the gym and they boys get warmed up as I sit and watch them. Someone comes up to me and I turn to face them.

"Are you (Y/N)?" The familiar boy asks and I respond with a yes as I realize that the boy is Iwaizumi, the boy I was closest to in middle school.

The game starts and I watch from the stands since Kiyoko is on the bench with Takeda.

(Timeskip to whatever set Oikawa comes in on)

As a new male walks over to the coach, I stand up to get a better look at who it is. The brown hair. The confidence. The walk. I was about to be sick, so I ran to the bathroom just in time to vomit into one of the toilets, retching up everything I had today, gagging as I couldn't control it. I could hear that the game ended and I continued throwing up.

(After they clean up, out on the court with the team)

"Has anyone seen (Y/N)?" Kageyama asked after he didn't he see his sibling where they were standing before.

"They ran off to somewhere. They looked scared and kind of paler than normal," Yamaguchi replied as Oikawa came over to Kageyama.

"Tobio-chan~ how's (Y/N)-chan doing?" Oikawa asked.

"They're doing well. I don't know where they are right now though. They were watching the game before and then they ran off." Kageyama replied and glared at Oikawa.

"What's with the glare?" Oikawa teased and returned the glare,

"Just the fact that you almost made me lose my only sibling in middle school." Kageyama retorted and walked away from Oikawa, back to his team. Once everything was back in its place and the court was clean, Karasunou started to worry and looked everywhere for (Y/N). Oikawa went to the bathroom after the encounter and saw (Y/N) walk out of the bathroom, looking extremely sick and miserable.

"(Y/N)-chan~ How's it been?" Oikawa asked the sick looking individual. (Y/N) glanced up in fear and their eyes went wide at the sight infront of them as they run back into the bathroom, holding their hand on their mouth.

"Your team is looking for you, they're worried about you," Oikawa called after the smaller (Y/G). They turned around and ran back to the gym, only to run into Suga.

"(Y/N)! Where were you? Kageyama is worried, so is everyone else." Suga exclaimed and noticed how pale (Y/N) was, "what's wrong (Y/N)?" Suga asked as the team walked out of the gym and everyone ran over to the two members. "(Y/N), what's wrong?" Tsukishima asks (surprisingly) and looks at (Y/N) concerned. "I need to talk to my brother for a minute," (Y/N) says and pull Kageyama from the crowd to a more secluded place.

"Why're you so pale?" Kageyama demands, "I saw Oikawa and felt sick so I ran to the bathroom and threw up and then the game ended and he saw me coming out of the bathroom and he talked to me and I felt sick again so I ran back into the bathroom and puked again." (Y/N) rambled and leaned against the wall for support as Kageyama glared at the passing Seijo players when Iwaizumi came up behind them.

"(Y/N), are you ok? I saw you run out of the gym when Oikawa came in the game and got worried." The spiky haired teen said and looked at the pale person, this time Kageyama explained what (Y/N) had told him as said person was in a slumped pile on the ground with a dazed look on their face.
