No one ever comments on stories now and it's sad.

Vic's POV

Things between Kellin and I were still kinda rocky but, we were doing okay. I told him a lot of what was going on and he was starting to trust me again. There were only two secrets between us now and that was the fact that Kellin was lying to me about being off his meds and I hadn't told him that I had a rapist in the basement of the big house and I was going to kill him. Before I was going to kill him, though, Kellin had decided we needed to have Austin and Alan come over for dinner to show that we were doing great.

Besides we hadn't really gotten a chance to hang out with them in a while anyway.

"Hey, Vee," Kellin said, walking into the kitchen where I was stirring the pasta. Neither Kellin or I could cook to save our lives and spaghetti was the only thing we could actually do. "You're not burning anything, are you?" He asked, leaning against the counter next to the stove.

"No, I'm making the best damn spaghetti you'll ever have in your life."

"Just don't ruin it, Alan seems like he's having a rough time and I want this dinner to go smoothly."

I frowned. "What's going on?"

He shrugged. "I don't really know, he told me that Chad's gone, now but he hasn't told me why just that he's stopped showing up."

"Oh, that's weird."

My husband frowned. "Yeah, I know," he said just as the front door opened. "That's them, don't burn our dinner."

"I'm not going to burn it."

He kissed my cheek. "Good boy," he said.

"Kellin! Vic!" Alan shouted.

"Kitchen!" Kellin shouted back.

The couple came into the kitchen and smiled at us. "I've missed seeing you two like this," Alan said.

Kellin smiled, "It's kind of nice, isn't it?"

I finished up dinner and smiled at Kellin. "I think so," I whispered.

"What are you making?"

"Spaghetti, it's the only thing we know how to make."

"You know we could've cooked," Austin offered, "I can cook things and I'm good at it too."

"Well we wanted to be nice," Kellin said.

Alan looked at him curiously. "You're acting normal."

"Yeah, I'm doing great."

"So you're back on your meds?" he questioned and Kellin smiled.

"I never stopped taking them," he sang and placed the salad on the table as we set everything and soon enough all four of us were eating dinner.  We were quiet for a bit as we just ate our food.

"So, you two are okay now? No secrets?" Austin asked cautiously, looking between Kellin and me.

"No secrets here," Kellin said.

"Really?" Alan asked and looked at me. "That being the case, how's the business going, Vic?"

I shrugged. "It's pretty good, nothing too crazy."

"Really? Nothing new happening at all?"

"I mean, one of my prostitutes is pregnant and I gotta figure out what to do about that," I said.

"That's it?"

"Have I mentioned I'm working with the guy who killed my mom?" I asked lightly, and Kellin clenched his jaw. I wasn't going to mention Chad if that's what Alan was wanting. I wasn't going to say a thing to him, it'd just make him feel guilty and I didn't need to deal with that.
