Chapter 4: Finding clues

Sakura and his friends continue walking through the forest. They look around. Hinata looks ahead of them and spots something. She walks farther. Everyone sees her and they follow her. Just then, they come across a campsite. They find a couple of tents and stuff. 

Kiba: Looks like we found a campsite. 

Tenten: It was made recently. I'd say about two days ago. 

Hinata: But where is everyone? 

Ino: Good question. 

Kiba: I'll look around. 

He walks around the camp. Sakura looks at Hinata and sees she's feeling down. She walks to her. 

Sakura: Hinata?

Hinata: (Looks at her) Oh, sorry. 

Sakura: What's the matter?

Hinata: I was...thinking about Naruto-Kun. 

Sakura: (Sighs, puts her hand on her shoulder) We're all worried. 

Hinata: (Nods)

Kiba: Guys! Guys, get over here! You need to see this! Quick!

Everyone runs to where Kiba is at. Little do they know, someone is watching her. It's Naruto. He's real happy to see his friends, but he's worried about what his new family will do them. He decided to use something to get them out of the forest. With Kiba, he looks around in shock. The others join him and their eyes widen. They see the rest of the campsite is completely destroyed. Tents are tore, stuff are smashed and clothes are scattered. Everyone looks around.

Lee: Jeez! What the heck happened here?!

Shikamaru: Troublesome. It's like wild animals were here. 

Ino: Yeah. Man. (Looks at the ground and finds a camera) Hey, I found a camera. 

Sakura: (Picks it up and looks at it) It still works. 

Everyone gathers around as she turns it on. It shows a man. It's a ninja from the Fire Daimyo. He looks at the camera. 

Ninja om camera: Well, here we are. The forest of death. The Fire Daimyo has send us out here to train. Hopefully, to fight some animals. He also said we'll also be finding something different. If he's right, then we'll be famous and be the first to beat this new thing. (Chuckles)

Tenten: Something different? What does he mean by that? 

Sakura: I don't know. I don't think Tsunade knew this. 

Kiba: Wait. What did he mean by a new thing? Does he mean an animal?

Ino: Is there anymore of this?

Sakura: Yeah. 

She plays it and it shows the ninja again. This time, he's panicking and running while holding the camera.

Ninja on camera: These weren't supposed to be here. Not real anyway. We got--(Trips and falls) We got...we got attacked while we were sleeping last night. I think Vasile is dead. Mai...Mai ran off. I'm pretty sure they got her too. Me and the others are trying to make it out of the forest, but we can hear these things in the trees. It's like they're stalking us or something. 

He trips again and the camera shows a dead ninja, with a hole in his forehead. Everyone screams as they see him. 

Ninja 2 on camera: Oh, Kami, it's Rome! 

Female ninja on camera: (Speaking Foreign language)

Ninja on camera: What'd she say?

Ninja 2 on camera: She said we're never getting out of this forest. 

Female ninja on camera: We must go! Now!

Then, something grabs her from above and pulls her up. She screams in terror as she's being pulled up. 

Ninja 2 on camera: Jade! Jade! Jade! 

Then, a black sharp tail stabs through his chest. He screams in agony and he spits out blood. Then, the tail pulls him up high. Sakura and her friends are completely shocked at this. The remaining ninjas on the camera all panic as they form up. The ninja looks at the camera. 

Ninja on camera: Oh, Kami. I don't think we're gonna get out of here alive. Please, if anyone finds this, please tell our families that we're sorry, and that we love them. 

Then loud hissing is heard on the camera. The ninja drops the camera and they all run in fear as they scream. The camera cuts to black. Sakura puts down the camera. She looks at her friends. 

Kiba: What the heck was that?

Ino: It seems we're dealing with new animals. 

Tenten: But what kind of animal uses its tail to stab people?

Shino: Like Ino said, we're dealing with NEW animals. 

Hinata walks away. She looks around. Then, she spots something on the ground. She looks closely and her eyes widen. 

Hinata: Guys! 

She runs to where she saw and picks it up. Everyone runs to where she's at. She shows them what she found. Their eyes widen. It's Naruto's headband and his necklace. 

Sakura: Naruto was here...

Shikamaru: But why are his headband and necklace right here? 

Lee: Maybe he left them here for us to find. 

Kiba: Or he dropped them because he got attacked by those animals. 

Ino: Sakura, we should probably get out of here before they show up. Let's bring his headband and necklace to Tsunade. 

Shino: Hey, wait. Look what else. 

He picks up another camera and shows them. Sakura figures it must be Naruto's. 

Sakura: Ok. Everyone, we're leaving. 

They all nod. They follow Sakura back to the exit out of the forest. As they leave, Naruto comes out of hiding. He watches them leave. He really wanted to talk to them, but he couldn't take the risk. He didn't want them to get hurt or killed by the Xenos. He walks back to the cave to rest. He hopes his friends won't come back to the forest.
