"Are you guys ready for the trip?" My mother asks while backing the car out of the driveway.

My mother and her best friend, Sebil, have been friends since grade school but lost touch when my mom moved to Florida for College. There she got pregnant with me. Sadly, my dad left us before I even took my first steps. After finishing her studies my mom moved back to Korea. Shortly after, My mom and Sebil got back in touch, introducing me to Sebil's son, Jaebum. Now, we are in the 5th grade as close as best friends can get on a trip with our mothers.

"Yes!" Jaebum and I say in sync, resulting in us glaring at each other then bursting into laughter.

"They are so cute- they should get married," Sebil says, teasing us. My mom laughs at her comment. I look out the window as I feel my cheeks heat up. Jaebum laughs a little saying 'we are just best friends'.

Speak for yourself.

Our parents both know that I like him, he is the only one oblivious to my emotions toward him. I turn back around to scan over his faces. Perfection in human form, from his brown hair and amazing smile to his fair skin and deep brown orbs that filled his eyes. Sighing, I continue looking out the window at nothing until I see a car going the wrong way.

"Mom," I call out but they don't hear me. "Mom!" I yell as the car comes in contact with force. Ringing feels my ears as unbearable pain shoots across my body causing me to blackout.

I wake up to my vision being cloudy, I sit up seeing a blurry person.

"What is wrong with your face, why does everything look so faded?"

The doctor sighs then starts, "It's not my face, you have Glaucoma. The car accident caused the nerves that help you visualize to damage slowly."

"Glaucoma? Where is Jaebum, Sebil, - where is my mom?" I manage to choke out. The doctor's eyes soften. "Your mom is fine but I am truly sorry Ms. Daniels, but Sebil and Jaebum have passed away." He pats my shoulder. I instantly jerk my shoulder away for him.

"Please, you can't let them die like this," I paused. "you are the doctor fix it, fix them." My voice rises as the doctor moves towards the table.

"I think you underst-"

"No! I don't think you understand!" I make my way towards him. Before I could take another charge at him, he grabs my wrist and restraining me then sticks a needle in my neck.

Soon everything really does becomes faded.
