After the events of day 8, I don't feel like living anymore. I just go hunting for other tributes so I can just get this Game over with. I still have food, as I haven't eaten since day 7. I don't run into anyone, but I hear those damn noises behind me. I try to look for it, but theres nothing I can see. Its probably camouflaging, but I can't see it. I even double check, but theres nothing I could find. I see something in the distance that looks like a spec but its getting bigger. I think its running at me. Thats when I recognize that its Jack. He doesn't look like he wants to make friends with me, so I prepare for the fight. Right when he's about 3 feet from me, I hear something behind him emerge from the floor of the swamp. Its the thing that kept stalking me. It has moss and soil all over it, and I don't know who it is, but its not human. Theres just something about its pale face that didn't look quite right. In fact, it scared the shit out of me.
What was about to be fight turns into flight. Not just for me, but for the both of us, with only one objective now, which was to get out of here. The thing catches up to us in less than 3 seconds, after we ran for 20 seconds. I grabs Jack with its long sharp claws and pulls him back. I can hear Jack screaming and crying out for help, but I don't help him, since I know that if that....thing wasn't there, he would've tried to kill me. I just hear his screams go to an abrupt end, with a cannon firing. The thing has had its meal and goes back to its hiding spot. I figured Id just go to another place to settle, in another huge tree to scout if anyone else is near me, and to also get away from that thing. Nothing happens after that. No cannon firing, no nothing. When it gets dark and the deaths for today show up, its just Jack. Good thing I didn't get to know him, since it would've made me even more sad for hid death. Maybe if I knew him, I might've tried to save him, which could've gotten me killed. I just try to get some sleep after that, but I can't, so I stay up for day 10 entirely. Nothing happens then either. I guess taking sleeping sessions like this is very unhealthy. I just decide to go to sleep on day 10, since nothing happens.
