Aubrey's POV

As soon as I recovered from the shock of the situation I pulled out my phone and called Chloe. The vibrating of a phone beat out the silence of the room and I realised Chloe had left her phone in the room, so much for,
'Call me if anything happens.' I knew she was going to yell at me when she got back but I did my best so she'd just have to get over herself since it wasn't mine or anyone else's fault. I knew that whenever she had a go at me for something petty there was a reason behind it but that didn't mean it didn't hurt. There were literal seconds between me calling her and what happened next.

The constant beeping of the heart monitor got quicker. We couldn't really react but we didn't even get the chance to. So many people in scrubs forced their way into the room. We didn't know what was going on and didn't get a chance to ask as they ushered us all out the room. As I walked out I caught sight of a sudden flash of red and looked over to see Beca's arm being lifted as they checked her pulse. The heart monitors weren't always reliable so they had to check. When I saw her pale arm the red marks contrasted it. At first, I thought it may have just been scars but they were too dark and mostly scabs. I noticed a certain formality about them and was going to look at them further when her arm was dropped, well placed back on the bed. Once we were outside we heard worried shouting. We were terrified as we just stared at each other, no one knew what to do so we stayed in silence. That silence was briefly interrupted by footsteps and the door in front of us busting open. What happened was almost like slow motion, as cliche as it sounds. The team of doctors and nurses rushed her out of the room with a number of machines following behind. Everyone was silent, no one knew what had just happened and there was no one we could ask. It seemed as if every professional in the hospital had just followed our friend down the hallway. Amidst the chaos, I remembered our ginger friend and my girlfriend had no idea what was going on. I didn't call Stacie as I knew nothing of what was going on and didn't want to worry her unnecessarily. As for Chloe, we'd have to wait until she came back.

Since the room was empty we were allowed back in. It seemed empty without its main centrepiece and all the loud machines. I decided I was going to wait outside to break the news to the girl when she finally came back. I could feel my heartbeat in my ear as I waited outside the room, I didn't even know how to stand. Thankfully, she didn't take too long to appear in the hallway. I heard loud, quick footsteps before I saw the ginger flurry coming towards me down the hallway. When she finally got to me I had to stop her from entering the room and she was rightfully mad.
"What are you doing? Let me in."
"Chloe I need you to breathe."
"Aubrey I had a terrible feeling in the pit of my stomach, something bad is going to happen."
"Something bad already has happened." It was then that she broke past me into the room.
"Where is she?" The pain was audible.
"We don't know." I pulled her back out to the hallway so we could talk out of earshot from the girls.
"Why didn't you fucking call me you bitch?"
"I'm going to pretend you didn't just call me that and excuse the language after recent events." She stared at me in utter awe and was visibly hurt by the situation.
"Why didn't you call me?" Her voice was softer this time, calmer.
"You left your phone."
"What happened Aub?"
"She woke up briefly. She asked where her boyfriend was, asked where Jessie was before she asked where you were and if you were okay. Then she simply passed out again. We didn't know what was happening and then all the machines started going crazy and loads of doctors and nurses ran in. They kicked us out and then they rolled her down the hallway and I don't know, then you turned up."
"Oh."

We spent hours just waiting and were given no information on her, 'what if she was dead? No, they would've told us already.' I didn't realise the time until Stacie called me and asked who was going to the hotel that day. No one really wanted to but a few girls went to swap with my girlfriend and get a morale boost from the puppies. The only girls who remained were me, Chloe and Cynthia Rose. When my girlfriend arrived I walked out and saw her swamped by groups of fans and paparazzi so I quickly swooped in and saved her. We were all pretty used to that behaviour and dealt with it better now than when we first arrived but it was obviously still weird. Once we were on our way to the empty room and were alone I updated her on the day's events, she was speechless. As I got closer to the door I could hear crying on the other side and instructed Stacie to stay outside for a bit. I texted Cynthia and asked her what was going on, apparently, Chloe had finally snapped and broken down. I mean could you blame her? The girl she'd been pining after for years told her she loved her back, they were happy together for a couple months and then she told her none of it was real, out of the blue. To make it worse she'd found out that this girl just lied to her about not loving her to save from hurting her, they were going to make up but then she disappeared for months. When she was finally found she drove across the country to see her and she was in a coma. She then left for a couple hours and when she came back the girl had been wheeled away. I didn't know how Chloe had lasted as long as she had to be honest. I would've broken down long ago if it had been Stacie in that situation.
