Many years ago, merpeople and humans coexisted. They worked together, exchanged goods, and even fell in love with each other. Although, it was frowned upon to date a merperson for a kiss from one can turn an ordinary human into a merperson. The humans started to get angry at the merpeople for taking their people. As a result, the merpeople were being hunted and forced into hiding. Now, several years later, the mermaids are almost forgotten.
