PLEASE READ THIS NOTE BEFORE READING THE CHAPTER:So I've noticed something. After I upload a chapter, some people (whose names I won't mention... not because of secrecy or stuff I just never pay attention to usernames lmao--and even if I did I wouldn't state their names) will ask me to "please update!"...right after I update. Now, this might just be me being too sensitive but seeing comments like that really discourage me. I spend a lot of time writing these chapters (weeks, sometimes) and seeing demands to update right away instead of feedback on my writing don't make me write more...they make me write less. I love this story, I don't ever want to stop writing it until it's 100% done. But just seeing comments about when I'm gonna update next instead of positive feedback or constructive criticism really stress me out. I still have a life (barely lmao) and school to keep up with. And as much as I'd to like write chapters for this book non-stop, I can't. I have a bad habit of focusing on one chapter for one story until it's done instead of writing different chapters for stories at the same time so I might not upload for weeks...oops? I'm trying to give myself a schedule (Catnip-Every other Sun, Miraculous and Me- Every other Fri, and Miraculous Mermaids- Every other Sat) but for the most part, I think I'll just be updating when I can. I'm not saying to stop commenting (if you ever did) and if you have asked me to update in the past, I'm not mad, and I'm sorry if come off as rude or angry. (pls don't stop reading i still love you) So please have patience with me and my trainwreck of a life. Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk.
P.S sorry for the super long note-ON TO THE REAL STORY!
P.P.S: I might be able to stay on schedule if I do shorter chapters. My chapters have been around 1k words lately (sometimes 2k) which is why it takes me a while to upload. If I do shorter chapters (around 800 words), I should be able to upload more...maybe every Saturday. So do you guys prefer longer chapters or shorter ones?
Marinette POV:
I won't ever be able to eat again. After Alya and I finally decided to stop eating, We could barely move. So now we're sitting down, feeling miserable but not regretting the last twenty minutes at all. My phone chimes and I pull it out. It's Adrien. Alya looks over. "Who texted you?"
I look away. "Adrien, " I whisper.
Alya smirks and leans closer. "Well, what does it say?"
I push her face away. "Like I'll ever tell you."
"Puh-lease. You'll show me."
"Whatever." I look at the message.
Adrien💖: Mari where are you?
Me: In the dining hall
Me: Why?
Me: Adrien?
Me: Hello?
I frown. "That's odd."
Alya pushes up her glasses. "What is?" I show my phone to her. She pauses her reading to smirk at me. "Told ya you were gonna show me." She resumes her reading and frowns. "Weird. Try calling."
I take my phone back and press the call button. He doesn't respond. "He didn't answer. Oh my God, Alya! What if...What if he found out about my super duper huge crush on him and he doesn't feel the same? What if he just asked me where I was so that he could avoid me? Alya, I lost him! I lost Hugo, Emma, Louis, and...and...I lost the hamster! Nooo!" I toss my phone on the table and bury my head in my arms.
I hear Alya sigh. "Mare. That's not what happened. I can assure you that that would never happen. Look, he probably got held up. Maybe the paparazzi, or his father, or something like that." Alya pulls my chair closer to her. "Marinette. Look at me." I peek out from behind my arms. "Adrien will never avoid you. I promise."
