Marinette POV:

Once Adrien texts me goodnight, I sigh and flop down on my bed. "It's Kagami, isn't it?"

Tikki flies up to my face and offers half of her cookie in consolation. Glumly, I take it and chew slowly. "Well...You don't know that for sure. How do you feel about it?"

"I mean if he needs time, then I have no choice but to give him time, right? If he decides to go for the other girl who is most likely Kagami, then I guess I have to accept it and pray that things don't get awkward."

Tikki smiled. "I'm glad that you're not going to try to keep Adrien attached to you."

I sigh. "Of course I won't. He's not my property."

"Do you think that if things don't work out with Adrien, that you'll maybe accept Chat Noir's feelings?"

"Maybe. But not right away. I don't want him to be a rebound guy."

Tikki hummed in response and took another bite of her cookie.

Adrien POV:

"Are you ready, Adrien?"

I blink and see Marinette looking at me expectantly. "Uh, ready? For what?"

Marinette giggles and I feel my cheeks flush. "It's Friday! I promised to show you your abilities, remember?"

It's Friday already? The week went by so quickly and without conflict. No Akuma attacks, no awkwardness between me and Marinette, nothing. She had taken my request to take things slow well and things have been going great between us. I hear Marinette cough and I realize that I still haven't responded to her. "Uh, yeah! I remember. Sorry, I spaced out." I rub the back of my neck and smile apologetically.

She smiles. "It's fine.  So let's go? Or did you need to get your swimsuit and stuff?"

"I-I'm gonna need a swimsuit?"

"I mean if you're fine with walking around in wet boxers for the rest of the day then I guess you don't."

I blush. "Oh, you're right. Um. I'll go tell my bodyguard that I have to grab something and then I'll meet you at your house?"

Marinette shakes her head. "Meet me at the metro station."

I nod. "See you later."

"See ya." Marinette waved and walked off.

Twenty minutes later, I'm at the metro station looking for Marinette. "Where is she," I murmur to myself.

"Hey!"

I turn around and see Marinette smiling up at me with a beach bag. The same beach bag that she brought to the beach the other day. "Hey, Mari. Where are we going?"

She starts walking to one of the trains and steps inside. "We're taking a train to Normandy. Etretat Beach." She turns places two tickets into the machine and looks for a seat.

She bought my ticket. It's such a simple gesture but for some reason, it makes my heart skip a beat. "Uh, thanks," I say.

She sits down. "What do you mean?"

I sit beside her and my knee bumps against hers. "For paying for my ticket."

"It's no big deal. It's what friends do, right?"

I smile. "Right."

Marinette POV:

He's sitting next to me. Our knees are touching. He just smiled his gorgeous smile at me. Keep calm, Marinette. His fingers tap against his thigh and I feel the sudden urge to hook my pinkie around his. No. He wants to take things slow. Respect that. To keep my hands busy, I take out my phone and play some Super Penguino.
