9. Graduation
Prom is trash.
It looks like some teenage boys party at his parent’s house while they’re out. Someone spiked the drinks and now almost everyone is drunk, grinding on the dance floor with someone they don’t even know.
I giggled.
Good thing I’m not drunk. I giggle again then hug Alex, kissing his cheek.
“Hi.” I say when he turns to me.
He chuckles, raising an eyebrow amusedly at me. “Hi. What’s up?” He asked.
“The roof.” I giggle.
“You’re drunk aren’t you?” He chuckled, pinching my cheeks and smiling.
I swat his hands away. “No! I’m not drunk!” I exclaim, then an idea popped into my head. I pull him down to me and kiss him on his lips. After pulling away, I lick my lips as I look into his eyes, not letting go of his necktie yet. “I’m just intoxicated by you.” I giggle.
His breathless face vanished and he burst out laughing. “Oh my god! Babe, did you just pull a pick up line on me?” He kept laughing.
My face flushed when he called me babe.
“I mean, isn’t it obvious?” I asked, with my innocent face on as I pull him closer to me.
“Oh god, you are drunk. Come, let’s get out of this place before you get even more drunk.” He smiled, guiding me out the school gym. “let’s go to where we were really supposed to go.”
My eyes widened when he said that. No wonder he was so excited. “Where are we goin’?” I slurred.
He carried me bridal style and I squealed.
“We are going to my secret place.” He whispered in my ear and I shivered. “It’s going to take a while though, now that you’re drunk.”
“I’m not drunk!” I pouted.
He ignored me and set me down on a seat. Then I realize that we are at a bus stop. I look around the busy streets of our city and wait for him to explain why we’re here. And it looks like he wasn’t about to explain.
“Helloooo?!” I sang, waving my hands in front of his face. “Why are we here?!”
He smirked at me. “I thought you’d never ask.” He paused. “My secret place is an hour away from here.”
“What?!” I exclaim, angered.
Just then, the bus pulled up in front of us. “Come on.” Alex held my hand as we went inside the bus.
Everyone started glancing at us, and my face flushed. We were wearing formal dresses and everyone was wearing something not so formal. I feel like I went to a place, being overdressed.
“Hi, we’re not here to cause trouble so please stop staring at us!” I exclaimed.
Alex chuckled as he took a seat in the second to the last row of the bus, and he pulled me to sit down on his left, beside the window. “Keep it down sols. You drank too much of that spiked punch. You’ll need to drink a lot of water when we arrive.” He pecked my lips.
I smiled wider. “Are ya’ choc’late? Because yer so sweet.” I giggle.
He raised an eyebrow at me. “Are you a guy? Because you make too much pickup lines.”
I scrunch my face up. “Gals can make pickup lines too, ya’ know? And if I were a guy, that would make ya’ gay for datin’ me.”
“But if you were dating me as a guy, that would probably make you gay too.”
“No, I’d be a tomboy. And turn into a guy, and since you like me, we dated.”
“That would just make us straight people. Because you’d still be a girl and I’d still be a boy.”
“We’re not straight! We are as bent as a broken pole!” I scrunch my face up again.
“Stop doing that with your face. You’ll ruin your make up.” He chuckled, caressing my cheek.
“The make up that Delilah forced on me.” I added, yawning.
“You can sleep, if you want to. This will be one long hour.” He said, pulling my head to rest on his chest.
“What if I don’ wanna sleep?” I put a hand on his chest.
“You will.”
Seconds later, I feel my eyes droop and I snuggle my face into his neck, breathing in his scent. I feel a soft smile appear on my face. Peaches.
Then I was suddenly being shaken and I woke up from my nap. I groan. “What.”
“We’re near.” Alex said, shaking me awake.
“Already?” I whine.
“Yes. It’s already been one hour.” He said. “Now wake up.”
“Can’t you wake me up when we get there?”
“No can do. Wake up.”
“Make me.”
There was a pause.
Suddenly, his lips were on mine, his hand cupping my cheek and stroking my jaw. My heart jumped, but I didn’t respond. He’ll have to do something else to wake me up.
I expected him to stop and start trying to shake me awake again, but nooo. He did the opposite!
He grabbed my right leg and pulled it on top of his lap, making me gasp. Then his tounge slipped into my mouth. He pressed me against the window and I held back a moan. If he gets any kind of reaction from me, he’ll know I’m starting to wake up.
Then his tounge started thrusting in my mouth, his hand rubbing my inner thigh as he pressed on me more. The freaky part is the fact that I’m liking this. How the heck does he know this?
Suddenly my skin was heating up and I felt something jumbling in my stomach. And I couldn’t take it anymore. Damn teenage hormones.
“Fine…” I gasp. “I’m awake.”
I felt him smile against my lips. “Good.” Then he kissed down my throat, sucking on my neck. “There.” He said, after he pulled away.
My lips and the spot he sucked on were tingling. And my eyes widen, remembering we were in a bus. I look around and realize the bus is empty. Except for two more passengers all the way to the front and the driver.
When the bus stopped, my face was beet red going down the bus, and I kept my head held down for people not to see.
“Where are we?” I ask him.
“Just outside the city.” He answered.
“Are you going to kill me?” I ask once I saw we were headed into the woods.
“Nope.” He said, pulling my hand as we went through the trees.
Then what I saw when we got out was… beautiful.
We could see the moon and a big lake under us. It was a cliff, I realize. Then I saw the small blanket on the side, laid on the floor with a picnic basket.
“Oh my goodness.” I gasp, placing my hands over my mouth. “Alex… haha, this is so cliché.” I giggle. “But I love it. It’s beautiful.”
“I know.” He said, and I turn to see him looking at me with his chocolate brown eyes.
I walk up to him and hug him. “Thank you.”
“You’re welcome.”
●
All throughout the ceremony, while the other kids were complaining about having a hangover, I wasn’t. Thank god for Alex. He made me drink a lot of water so I could get sober last night. It worked, and I only have less lf a headache this morning. Just a little bit of coffee made it better.
I was thinking about Alex all morning. And what he did for me last night. I had so much fun. Especially when he revealed to me the pasta in the picnic basket. He knows everything about me. Maybe even more than I do.
And that made me realize…
I love him.
And as I was called onto the stage, no one clapped, except for the few people that actually knew me. Zachary and his friends were hollering and cheering, Haley and Daphne were sitting together clapping and cheering, my family was there, smiling proudly and applauding.
Then there was Alex, the person who started to get to know me by choice, and was able to change my life. He was smiling at me brightly and I smiled back. He mouthed something to me, and I could clearly hear his voice saying the words.
“I love you.”
Damn. He tells me the moment I graduate. He knows how to get the timing right.
This was where, I knew.
