Assassination Classroom: Chapter 35

"I called up our buddies..."

"Got everything ready for a little commemorative photo shoot, too."

"Make as much noise as you want, no one will hear you here."

I heard a voice hiss at us. I had passed out under all the stress. My eyes fluttered open and I panicked. "You... I thought I'd seen you somewhere before." I heard one of them say as he pulled out his phone. He looked to Kanzaki before showing us a picture. "This is you, right? At a Tokyo arcade last summer... I wanted to kidnap you then, but you slipped through my fingers... Who knew you'd be a student at a famous junior high? But hey, I get it. The higher up you are, the deeper you want to fall. And from now until nightfall, I'm gonna teach you just how much lower you can go." I saw her frown, and avert her eyes from the man. I was worried, Kayano was worried, and Kanzaki was worried.

'Where were Karma, Nagisa, Sugino and Okuda?!'

I opened the book Korosensei had made for us before the trip had even begun. "'What To Do When A Group Member Has Been Abducted'... What kind of guidebook would consider that possibility?" Sugino asked as we huddled around the thick and heavy book. "Korosensei is very diligent. He's got everything in here... he even included things as useless as 'What To Do When Seeing Kyoto Souvenirs Being Sold At a Tokyo Shop', and 'What To Do When Seeing a Lovey-Dovey Couple At a River Bank When I Am Forever Alone'." "That is none of his business!" Sugino yelled, and Okuda giggled.

"That picture... So even a model student like you went through a phase?" Kayano asked as she leaned in towards Kanzaki and I. On hearing Kayano's words, I couldn't help but realize how much this class was changing me... for the better, too. I used to be cold and quiet, but... It's kind of worn off... I show more emotion, now. "Yeah... My dad was really strict... He was hellbent on my getting good grades and prestigious position... I wanted to get away from all that. I wanted to leave my elite school's uniform behind... So I changed my look, and hung out where no one knew me... Pretty stupid, right? The only thing I landed after all that playing around was a seat in the E-Class..." There was a pause, taken by Kanzaki. She looked down, seemingly depressed. "I don't even know where I belong anymore..." I was about to say something when one of the thugs walked over and kneeled to our level. "How 'bout with us? We don't give a damn 'bout prestige, here... We drag those elitist bastards down to rock bottom. Or maybe we just put em' back to where they used to be." I heard another one speak up, "Oh yeah, we done plenty a' that stuff." Kayano looked away, and mumbled, "You're the worst..." That obviously caught the attention of one of the thugs, because he picked her up and tossed her into the coach. "Kayano-cha-!" I was interrupted by a hand brought over my mouth, and a sadistic voice talking about how he could make my hair a lot shorter, even though he didn't have any scissors. I squirmed and kicked, to no avail. I was really mad. That's when I looked over to the door of the little place we had been brought to. They heard footsteps and, thinking it was the photographers they'd hired, they turned around to greet them. "Our photographers have arr-" They were interrupted by a terrible sight. A man who was too beaten up to talk. Their attention was brought to the door. "Huh?..." Kanzaki looked to the door.
