Assassination Classroom: Chapter 45
—————————————————-

Instead of immediately going home, I walked to a nearby cafè.

As soon as the bell rang when I opened the door, I saw a pair of light brown eyes become fixed on me. "Koiama-san!" Isogai yelled in excitement and slight worry as he rushed out of the kitchen. "What are you doing here?" He asked after fixing his bow. "I, uh... I heard this place has amazing cheesecake... What are you doing here?" I asked, eyeing his uniform. A bead of sweat trailed down his forehead before he sighed, "I work here..." he mumbled. "What? But that's not allowed...!" I mumbled as I was taken aback. "I need to help my mother with this place sometimes... please promise me you won't say anything." He asked as he looked at me with pleading eyes. "Alright, alright... You don't need to ask me, I didn't plan on saying anything..." I mumbled as his face lit up with joy. "Good! Thank you very much, Koiama-san!" "Anytime." I smiled slightly and he led me to a table. I sat down near the window. Not long afterwards, Isogai walked towards the table with one hand occupying a small cheesecake, and the other a note. He set them down at the same time and walked away. "Thank you!" I yelled as he stopped, smiled, and continued on his way. Right as I picked up a fork and started pecking at the cheesecake, I noticed the note had my name on it. I'd assumed it was a receipt, never would I have guessed it was a letter. I stared at it for a moment more and pondered whether or not I wanted to stop eating and read it. Eventually, I decided better of it and kept eating. I left money on the table for Isogai and I waved as I left the café.

"Alrighty... The letter..." I mumbled as I lifted the letter a little closer to my face and tried to make out what it said;

"Dear Koiama-san... Emasu." My eyes widened at what it said. My eyes violently scanned and reread it multiple times as I was left mouth agape. "H-Huh?..." I couldn't believe what it said.

'I don't feel the same way, Isogai-kun... I'm so sorry...' My mind kept trying to find ways to break it to him without shattering his heart. By the time I was home, I had tears heading in my eyes. I unlocked the door and walked inside. The house was gloomy and dim, and it reeked of despair and loneliness. I made my way up the short set of stairs in the hallway and up to my room. I dropped everything at the door. I unbuttoned my blazer and plopped on my back into my bed. Without really even thinking about it, I had fallen asleep. I was super stressed out, and I needed to get some rest.

I turned around after hearing the door creak, and found very, very shocked and worried faces... two of which belonged to Kayano and Nakamura.
"W-We came to see how you were doing... We knew about Isogai wanting to confess to you... Nakamura and Kayano told us everything you said in the locker room..." Kurahashi said in a shaky voice, looking at me. My eyes widened and my face turned red, I was super embarrassed. Kanzaki knelt to my bed and as I sat up, she cupped my face in her hands. "I want to help you, Koi-chan... I'm so sorry about everything. If you ever need anything, just ask, okay?" she brought me in for a hug. I nodded with a slight whimper, earning a sad expression on everyone's faces. Nakamura spoke up, lightening the mood. "What are you, Batman? You need some light in here, Koi-chan." She said as she made her way to the curtains and shoved them open. I hissed and everyone chuckled. I squinted because I'd never had so much light in my room before. Yada and Fuwa ran downstairs and came back with everyone's bags. "So, uh... hehe..." Yada started as she dropped everyone's bags. "We decided that we're sleeping at your house tonight, Koi-chan! Clear up your schedule!" Hara smiled, making me laugh. We set everything up on the couch downstairs as the afternoon sun started setting outside my door. We made a bowl of popcorn and Okuda put Fairy Tale on. "Thanks." I mumbled, earning a confused look from the faces of every girl in 3-E. "Don't thank us, Koi-chan! You're the one letting us stay over tonight!" Kurahashi spoke up, earning a nod from all the girls. "Aww..." We went back to watching and doodling and talking.

After work, Maehara walked home with me. "Damn..." Maehara muttered, making my head turn in his direction. "Hm?"I mumbled, and he sighed.
"You know what I think would be the sexiest thing ever?"
"What?..."
"A sleepover including nothing but the girls in our class!!"
"Huh... I guess you're right." I chuckled.
