~Liam's POV~

Theo and I were running away from the tree we partially ditched Chance in. But hey, can you blame us? We had wild dogs on our tails. Similar-looking breed as the ones a long time ago. All of a sudden we stopped in the middle of a park, making me feel a bit, a whole lot anxious about the fact that we were not only surrounded by five dogs, but also people. Not surrounded intentionally, but they were staring at us like we were freaks.

"I- Liam, you need to stand back," he said, a hand on my shoulder. When I attempted to ask why, he stepped forward. For some reason I could not seem to move, like I was glued right where I stood. "Hey there buddies...." I heard him say, crouching down to their level. The dogs were growling with red and black eyes, staring at him with their teeth showing as they snarled.

What the hell was he doing?! He was surely going to get one or both of us killed!

My doubts felt as if they were coming true the next second I heard his voice. I caught his eyes in the reflection of one of the dog's eyes, a different other color that took over his grey ones. "You know me, right? It's your buddy!" his light-hearted laugh seemed to be similar of a piercing scream through my ears. Looking at the dogs' reactions by whimpering, they thought the same thing. "Now how about you leave me and the boy alone, huh? Or I'll have to cut your heads off one by one... ~" he hummed, making a slicing motion across his throat.

"Theo," I reached a hand out to touch him and tell him not to do anything stupid, which was most likely a lot too late of a warning. Instead, he pushed me back, staring at me with his golden, yellow eyes. I inhaled sharply and he backed off, giving the dogs a glare and they ran off in whimpers. He turned back to me and his eyes were back to normal. Did he know what the hell he did? "Theo?" I asked, reluctantly poking at his shoulder.

I was scared.

"Yeah, Liam?"

I bit my lower lip. I was wondering what just happened, and if all of that was my mind giving up on me in that moment. Was I going crazy? "You- Those dogs-"

He chuckled, softly punching my shoulder. "You're not telling me you're scared of rabid pups, are you?"

I didn't expect him to tease me about that kind of situation, returning the same punch to the shoulder, only with a bit more force packed in. "Hell no. I'm not scared of anything. What about you? Were you shaking in your boots?"

Theo looked down at his own two feet and back up at me, tilting his head. "I'm wearing shoes, Liam-"

"Figure of speech. Also- What the hell were you thinking? You almost got yourself killed!"
