The brothers knocked on the door when they came home from the bus, holding each other's hand ,since they had to cross the street. When the door swung open, they walked in, nearly oblivious to who opened the door for them. Theo was the first to point it out. "Orlando?"
"Hey Theo," Orlando smiled slightly, folding his hands. Two other boys came out from the kitchen, along with Mr. and Mrs. Heller.
"Mom, Dad, what are they doing here?" Liam asked, looking up at their parents. They sighed softly and Mrs. Heller stepped towards her boys, kneeling down.
"They're here to do something that is completely safe. Sure, it's risky, but they asked for our permission to go through with this," she told them with a hopeful look on her face. Then, she stood back up, returning to her husband and holding him close. "just hold still. They won't hurt you, we promise."
The three boys before them came forward, closing their eyes. "It's okay," Orlando spoke softer than the others did, and then the three opened their eyes, all different colors than they were when the brothers met each of them. Orlando's eyes were yellow like the sun, and Steve's and Christian's eyes were completely white, like glue or salt. Orlando continued, his voice going softer than it was originally, "close your eyes, boys. It won't hurt you or your parents."
"So it'll hurt you guys?" Theo asked, fear striking in his eyes and entire expression, trying not to shake or scream at them to get away from him and his family.
Steven looked at Orlando and Christian, regret slowly showing on his features. "It's okay, Theo. It's safer not to remember us...."
"But why?" Liam blurt out, clearly upset with this decision the parents were allowing to happen. "They were all good things! Steven, we're friends, aren't we? You accidentally spilled glue on yourself today!"
"Seriously?"
"Shut up, Christian," Steven huffed out. He took out a small, round object. He handed it to Orlando and nodded, whispering to Christian afterwards. Steven seemed to be the only one with the most mercy, besides the fact that he was letting his two buddies do whatever they were planning to do to the brothers.
"Close your eyes, boys," Orlando instructed, and they did as they were told, even though all three of them were scared. But for different reasons. Theo was scared they were going to end up like their friends before them, Liam thought his parents were Satanists or something, and Chance? Chance was afraid his little brothers were going to get hurt in the process, even with the reassuring, warm smiles their parents gave them.
The orb object began to rise up in front of them, sliding over to face Chance. It landed in his lap, and thinking they were just giving something like a surprise or a prank or something along that line, he cupped his hands on the bottom of the orb. He wasn't aware that it made him unconscious, falling forwards on the floor. Thankfully, before it dropped, Orlando caught it and did the same thing with the remaining boys. After all three were out cold like lights, the others were about to head out, waving back to the parents with a small 'take care' here and a 'thanks for letting us do this' there.
"Mr. and Mrs. Heller," the oldest out of the three, Christian, turned back to them. "I have to inform you that we will come back once they are older, for heavenly purposes." Though Mr. Heller was worried, as that was not said during the deal the five made with each other, Mrs. Heller nodded and waved them off, telling them they promised to remember.
