"When people die, whether they go to heaven or hell, a new soul is combined with their human one. Kabshiel is the name of your brother's angel guardian," he said. Kabshiel, huh? I was really hoping this was all some stupid kind of nightmarish hell. "Asshole is a little pet name.... Okay, that might be a total lie, but everyone lies, right?" I opened my mouth to answer before he held up his index finger, gesturing for me to shut my mouth. So I did.

"Kabshiel's almost the same kind of rebellious soul as demons are. But like all those attractive and obedient angels upstairs, he has to obey orders. Doesn't have to be from God, it can be any kind of person he sees as a leader. Hell," I flinched slightly. "I am slightly positive, which is a first by the way, he might be taking orders from a demon. Cambion, whatever."

"What's a-"

Orsaraoh already knew what I was going to say. "Cambion? Are you kidding me, kid?" he sighed in pure frustration. He mumbled something under his breath that I didn't catch. He cleared his throat, "Okay, a cambion is the opposite of a Nephilim, meaning instead of a half-angel half-human mutation, they are half-demon half-human. Weird, I know, but stay with me."

I began to nod slowly in agreement, confirming I was still on the same page as him. So he continued, "Any of us can watch over your kind. Angel, demon, Nephilim, half-angel half-demon, Cambion. Even some of us take the form of animals to disguise ourselves if we are sure that taking control of our target will get them killed. Not all of us are sinners, by the way."

I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion. "I- I didn't say anything about that. I know not everyone's a sinner, angels are perfect and holy, demons are-" I got stuck on my own words, thinking how I would describe them.

"Some of those bitches are sinners. Hell," I flinched again. "even the most seemingly innocent ones are the biggest sinners. They just happen to hide it well with their childish words and actions," he heard a voice calling his name from under the tree, making me even more confused. "Let's check it out kid," he stared at me before jumping down and landing with a thud. I trailed behind him much carefully, softly hitting my feet on the ground.

I dusted myself off from the leaves that fell and looked up at the source of the voice. Looked entirely like Chance besides lighter hair and his wings were visible. He wore a similar cross around his neck like Orsaraoh. Out of nowhere, the tall look-alike picked me up off the ground. "Zinnalan, how are you?" he dropped me when he saw Orsaraoh. "Orsaraoh, long time no kill." His tone was completely flat. Thinking back to what my little brother's guardian said, that means he was Kabshiel. No idea who this 'Zinnalan' was though.

"Liam Heller, this is the asshole- I mean Kabshiel. Kabshiel is like me, a guardian. But he's an entire angel and not a half-breed. Kabshiel, this is the fresh piece of meat I'm having to watch over. Zinnalan isn't doing his job right now and I don't know where in Satan's ass he's at. Have you seen him?"

"That's what I came to talk to you about, Orsaraoh. He wasn't in hell. Not in heaven either, and the only other place he can be is up here on the surface."

"What does he want now?" Kabshiel frowned and crossed his arms. His wings fluttered gently and I was curious with questions about them and this Zinnalan guy. Was he a half-breed? An angel? I was so curious to find out everything I never knew before. "I swear to damnation, I will kill him!" he yelled, practically breaking anyone or everyone's eardrums at that point.

That was when all consciousness left my body, feeling as if I had gone limp on demand. I didn't feel any control over myself anymore, but I did feel and hear myself speak. I had no clue what was going on until realizing my guardian was taking over. "Missed me, pretties?"
