Scott sighed as his commutator buzzed. This was the third time his brothers had tried to get a hold of him. He knew that he couldn't keep ignoring them but Emma was sound asleep on his chest and Scott really didn't want to wake her up.
"Hey, John," Scott answered the call as quietly as he could.
"Scott, where are? Grandma Tracy is looking for you every where," John said as his hologram floated above his wrist.
"Its a long story. Tell Grandma to make up a spare bed. We're going to have guest for awhile," Scott said as he looked down at the sleeping girl on his chest.
(Time Skip)
"Dare I ask?" Virgil asked with his arm crossed.
Scott stood in the middle of the room, holding Emma asleep in his arms as his brothers stared at him.
"The short version is the Hood kidnapped Emma and did something to her to make her sick," Scott said laying her down on the couch.
"So why is she here? I mean, I totally don't mind another hot chick living here. Surely she could go to the cops or something," Gordon said, gesturing at the sleeping woman.
Virgil smacked the back of Gordon's head.
"Its the Hood, Gordon. If he has taken Emma once, he'll try to do it again," Virgil said.
"And it has absolutely nothing to do you the fact that you like her. I mean you just went on a date," Gordon grumbled pointing at Scott's chest.
Over the last few weeks, Gordon had been butting heads with all his brother, especially Scott. He had even gone so far as to question Scott's orders on a rescue.
Gordon was on Scott's last nerve and it was already quite shot.
"What's going on?" a very sleepy Alan walked into the room, rubbing his eyes.
"Nothing, little bro. We're just going to have a guest living here for a few weeks," Virgil said, stepping between Scott and Gordon as a way to camouflage the on going argument.
"Okay," Alan said and shuffled back to his bedroom.
"Now," Virgil said, wheeling on his brothers, "Gordon go hit the hay. Me and Scott need to have a long conversation."
Gordon huffed and stomped to his room.
(Gordon's POV)
'Why I am not surprised,' Gordon thought as he slammed his door shut, 'I'm in a world of pain and all Scotty does is bring home a girl.'
Gordon threw himself onto his bed, kicking off his shoes. His back was throbbing and his finger tips felt num.
Ever since his hydrofoil accident, Gordon had good days and bad day with the pain. Most days, he felt fine and could do just about anything, but for the last two weeks it had been nonstop pain. It was getting to point where he would randomly loose feeling in his arms or legs.
'Virgil or Grandma should has noticed that I'm not at a 100%,' he thought as he started grabbing the pillows he had hidden away under his bed to help support his back while he slept when the pain got bad.
Suddenly, a rush of pain ran down his spine and into his arms and legs.
"Help," he croaked as he hit the floor, blacking out from the pain.
