Scott came out of his room when he smelled food. Good food too.

"Um where is that wonderful smell coming from?" Alan asked rubbing sleep from his eyes as he stuck his head out of his room.

"The kitchen, I think," Virgil said, helping Gordon towards the family room.

Gordon was still on medical leave from missions and extremely sore. Everyone took turns helping him around the house.

"How is that possible?" Alan following his older brothers.

"No wash, no food," Emma shouted.

All the boys froze. No one had said anything like that in a long time. They always washed their before they ate. Not even Grandma Tracy told them to go wash their hands before they ate anymore.

Their mom always remained them to do so.

"Okay," Alan said shrugging his shoulders as he went to wash up.

"Mom," Gordon said in a whisper.

The older two looked at each other, thoughts filled with foggy memories of Sunday mornings and holidays filled with food. Sick days with homemade soup and hugs. Crashing and soft hands helping them up, kissing their injuries better.

"You three better go clean up or Alan and John will all the food," Emma said limping slightly as she walked towards them.

"John came down from Thunderbird 5?" Scott asked shaking his head to clear it.

"Yep," Emma said leaning against the wall.

"Come on, Gordo," Virgil said and helped Gordon toward the bathroom.

"So, about earlier-" Scott started to say.

"Scott, I meant what I said. Just trust me when I say that no matter what happens, I'll stay by your side," Emma said kissing Scott on the cheek.

Scott was stunned. For a demigod that was difficult promise to keep. Emma would always be hunted by monsters, and he would be rushing toward danger.

"You don't have to promise that, Emma."

"Hey, I care about you. Trust me, I'll try my best to keep my promise."

"Okay," Scott said leaning slightly forward.

Emma mirrored his action and just before their lips met, Alan turned the corner.

"Gross, PDA," Alan said coving his eyes.

"Come on you, dinner awaits," Emma said chuckling as she walked towards the kitchen.
