Emma was a very light sleeper.

Even with the lights off and the noise of the waves crashing on the shore, she still heard Gordon cry out.

Emma bolted upright, her eyes easily adjusting to the darkened room as she scanned the area for where the noise came from.

A light thump and Emma leapt to her feet, rushing toward the sound.

She reached a door that had a poster of a squid. Emma carefully pushed open the door and gasped when she saw Gordon passed out on the floor.

"Hey come on, you got to wake up," Emma said, darting over and placing her hands on his chest.

Something was wrong. She could feel water in his lungs that wasn't suppose to be there.

"Someone, help. Scott!" Emma shouted.

Gordon took a shuddering breath, and Emma cringed at the sound.

She need to get the water out of his lungs fast, and she didn't have time to go the normal route.

Emma turned him on his side and placed her hand on his spine.

Suddenly, she could feel something else. Fluid pressing against his spine, causing Gordon what must have been a lot of pain.

'Focus, Ems. You have to get the water out of his lungs first,' Emma thought.

She concentrated on the water in his lungs and willed it out.

Gordon vomited the water all over the floor and took a gasping breath.

"Easy, I just got the water out of your lungs, but don't move. You have fluid pressing against your spine. I don't know what will happen if you move around," Emma said, grabbing Gordon's hand.

"What? How?" Gordon croaked.

"Its not important," Emma said, worried about how weak he was.

"Thanks," Gordon whispered.

Scott ran in, flicking on the light as he did. Virgil was right behind him.

"His lungs were almost filled with water and he has fluid against his spine," Emma said, blinking the spots from her eyes.

Virgil pushed past Scott and carefully lifted Gordon. He took off towards what Emma could only guess was the med bay.

"How did you know that he was in trouble?" Scott asked.

"I'm a light sleeper," Emma shrugged.

"So am I and I was right across the hall."

"Good ears, I guess," She said standing.

A wave dizziness swept over Emma and she stumbled towards Scott.

"Hey, take it easy," Scott said catching her easily.

"Sorry for this," Emma said weakly.

"Sorry for what?" Scott asked.

Emma vomited all over his pajamas.
