Alex
"Okay, now we will talk this out like mature adults," Grace said as we all stood there.
Yeah, that didn't happen. Jake, Erik, and I started arguing like kids. It occurs when you have a beef with each other.
"Enough! I said we would talk like adults, not big babies!" Grace yelled as the three of us stopped, and the others looked on at us.
"What is wrong with you three? Like seriously, what is wrong with you? Can't you forgive and move on?" Grace asked.
We looked at her.
"I give up!" Grace threw her hands up in the air and sat down.
"Do you know what your problem is?" Ashley asked us.
"Oh, great, here we go," Matt mumbled.
"No, but I'm pretty sure you will tell us," Erik retorted.
"Cute," Ashley said as she rolled her eyes. "Your problem is that you're too busy blaming each other for something someone else did."
We all looked at her.
"Let's see if I got this correct, Frank kidnaps Jake and threatens him, making Alex believe that he's dead, which Erik helps. They get together because, again, we think Jake is dead, only to find out he's not dead. Erik doesn't tell Alex he's alive because once again, she thinks Jake is dead, which turns out Jake is alive, but Erik didn't find out until after he broke up with Alex. Is that correct?" Ashley looked at us.
"Yep," the three of us agreed.
"Then why are you mad about what the hell happened or who didn't tell who what?" Ashley looked at us, questionably.
"Because it's the principle of it all," I answered her.
"What principal? Because this could have gone either way," Ashley countered.
"She's got the point," Ryan shrugged.
"Alex, you lied to all of us, but we forgave you. You slept with Matt to get back at Ryan, and they forgave you. The truth is no one is perfect, you twit, and we all make mistakes except me," Ashley said arrogantly.
I rolled my eyes. Leave it to Ashley to make herself look good in all this.
"Hold up, Chickie, you aren't perfect either," Grace said, getting up. "If I remember correctly, you set out to make Alex's life a living hell when she got here."
"True, but I've changed," she shrugged, causing Grace to roll her eyes.
"Alex, people make mistakes," Matt said to me. He looked at Jake. "People have to move on if they think someone isn't coming back." Then he looked at Erik. "But everyone deserves the truth."
"He's right," Ryan agreed as we all looked at him. "You three can be angry all you want, but Frank caused all this. If you should be angry, be angry with him."
My friends were right. Even after trying to get away from Frank, he still wreaks havoc in my life. I sighed and sat down on the couch.
"I don't want to be angry anymore. By doing so, I still give Frank power, and I don't want to do that. Not only did he try to ruin my life when we were together, but he tried when we weren't. What kind of person does that?" I asked them.
"A monster," Erik answered. "Good people don't go around trying to ruin others only assholes do."
I stood up and looked at Jake and Erik, "I needed someone when I was at my low, and Erik was it. He supported me and was there for me, helping me with Jacob. He cared about me," I told Jake.
"But my heart belongs to Jake. It always has. He was the one I fell in love with, out of anyone. It's a once in a lifetime love. Eric, I loved you, but I wasn't in love with you," I explained to Erik.
Then I turned and looked at Jacob. "See that little boy. He got the best of Jake and me. No matter what, he will always be a part of us because we created him out of love. He's the one I love unconditionally."
Jacob looked up and smiled, which made me laugh. Then he got up and toddled over to me. I leaned over and picked him up, turning to them. "He's what matters. I don't want to stay in the past. I want to move forward."
"That's all I want," Jake agreed.
Erik sighed as he sat down on the couch. "You try to do the right thing and still end up alone."
I sat down next to him and handed him, Jacob, "Maybe not. You're still a big part of Jacob's life. At least I know you won't let him run off," I said, looking at Ryan, who rolled his eyes.
"Thanks, Alex," Erik said as he looked at Jacob, who smiled. The truth was Erik and Jacob were close. I couldn't take that away from him even if we weren't together. It was fair to either of them.
I had a feeling one day Erik would meet someone that would be better for him.
After everyone left, Jake and I sat on the couch while Jacob played. I snuggled into him.
"I think once I get to where I have better control over things, I will go back to teaching," Jake said.
I looked at him, "Really?"
"Yeah, I love teaching, but I want to get better first," he replied. "I think I need to get back to the things I enjoyed before everything that happened. Get some normalcy back into my life," Jake reasoned.
I couldn't argue with him on it. After going through a traumatic experience as he did, he needed some normalcy for once.
I got up and kissed him, and he pulled me to him, deepening it. To have his lips against mine felt like home, I had missed him so much, and now he was here with me, with us.
After spending the whole day together as a family, which we needed, we put Jacob down for the night. Then Jake led me to our room, where he pulled me close to him.
Our lips collided as we removed each other's clothes, falling into bed. Jake pinned me to the bed, sliding his hands into mine as he was positioning himself between my legs. I felt him inside of me within seconds.
As we moved together, our lips never left each other. There were so much passion and love between us. I needed him, and he needed me. Together we needed each other.
