After a few more miles of walking, they at last had reached the junkyard. They all stood behind the chain link fence, scanning the area for any sign of Milo Pressman or Chopper.

"Hey Vern," Gordie said, "Look's like your ma has been out driving again." In the junkyard, there were lots of busted and various parts of cars, so from the comment, apparently Mrs. Tessio wasn't the best behind the wheel.

"That's so funny I forgot to laugh," Vern replied in yet again, another sarcastic tone. Teddy then threw his sleeping bag over the fence, pretending he was a soldier and that was his weapon, he chanted,

"Stand back men!" He then continued to say other meaningless words about leading his 'men' and Vern and Max played along to his game. The three would hide behind cars when "explosions" erupted, and ran through the junkyard using miscellaneous items as guns. Chris and Gordie stayed behind, watching the three.

"Teddy's crazy," Gordie said, watching him scream commands as if he were a general.

"Yeah, he won't live to be twenty I bet," Chris replied, "Max's something else too, not in that way though, a good kind of something else." Chris watched as she was catching up to Teddy, admiring how beautiful she looked when she smiled, how orange her hair glowed in the sun, which complemented her blue eyes perfectly.

"You really like her, don't you?" Gordie asked, "I mean I knew you already did, but I thought it was just a little crush or something." Chris blushed and a smile crept onto his face.

"Yeah, I do like her a lot. I don't know what it is about her, I can't stop thinking about her and it's driving me nuts. Also, why doesn't she have a sleeping bag?"

"She said she didn't have one, apparently her mom left them back in California-"

"California?" Chris asked.

"Yeah, that's where she's from," Gordie replied, "Anyway, I offered for her to use mine, but she refused." Chris just nodded, and looked back over at Max.

Over at the well, Max had finished filling up her canteen and sat down by some scrap metal that created some shade. She watched as Chris and Gordie were still near the entrance, until they broke into a race. She watched as Gordie was in the lead, until Chris overtook him and he cheered with his arms high in the air. The two bent over to catch their breath, and Max shouted,

"Better luck next time Gordo!" they both looked over at her and chuckled.

"Hey, have you guys been watching The Mickey Mouse Club lately?" Teddy asked. The four all joined Max under the shade, and were throwing rocks into a tin can.

"Yeah," Chris, Max, Gordie and Vern said at the same time.

"I think Annette's tits are getting bigger," Teddy said. The boys agreed, but Max rolled her eyes.

"Yeah, I think he's right," Gordie said, "I've been noticing lately that the A and the E are starting to bend around the sides." Gordie lifted his hands, pretending to have boobs to show what he meant. The boys laughed but Max muttered a "Jesus" to herself.

"Annette's tits are great," Vern smiled.

"Yeah," The other three boys agreed.

"You know who else's tits are great?" Vern said again, looking over at Max. Teddy and Gordie looked over but Chris glared at Vern. Max noticed what they were looking at, and she crossed her arms around them quickly.
