Anything Can Happen

Something entirely new

• Y/N's pov
Another boring day in Beach city. It was too hot in Beach city and none of my fans worked in my house. It was an early Tuesday morning and the heat made me sweat. I was laying down on my green couch and watching Courage the cowardly dog. Well I wasn't quite watching it, more like listening to it with my eyes closed. I don't quite like the show but it was pretty much the only thing on. Everything else was just garbage, but I had nothing else to do so I just watched Tv. With my eyes closed I tried to picture a nice cold place, but unfortunately it didn't work due to my very loud neighbors. My neighbors were a married couple who always argued about stupid things, like their bills, and how their house is turning into complete and utter crap. Not literally, but the outside of the house had paint starting to peel off the walls, along with some bee hives all over their walls. It's not the best house, if I say so myself it's more of a fixer upper. I'm happy I bought this house before it was sold. My house had two floors and only two bedrooms. My room was the biggest and the other room was for friends if they need to get away from their parents. The only person that would spend the night was Lars. He argued with his parents and he would come to my house because he knows no one ever comes over. I open my eyes and turn off the tv. I soon had an idea in my head and I ran up the stairs to my room and picked out my swimsuit. I took off my shirt and bra and I threw on the top of my bikini and I quickly took off my pants and underwear and put on my bikini bottom. I then threw on a loose top and put on some shorts, so I could easily take off my over clothes and swim after they're off,and I also put some flip flops on and I walked down the stairs and picked up a bag by the front door and I put my keys and grabbed a towel from the bathroom and put it in the bag. I then walked out the door and closed it quickly behind me. I didn't bother locking it and I walked down my street and I noticed Sadie quickly walking in the direction of the big donut. My stomach grumbles and I walk to the big donut to grab a snack. I then walked a little faster to be the first one at the big donut so I wouldn't have to wait in the line that's always there each morning. A few minutes later I was face to face with the big donut. I walked in and I saw a tired looking Sadie slouched on the table top. I walked over to her and I looked through the glass to find a good donut. Every time I would go I would pick a different flavor. Sadie looked at me and she stood up instead of slouching.
"Hey Y/N, which donut do you want?" Sadie asked in her sweet voice. I furrowed my eyebrows and still didn't know what to get. I pretty much had every donut at least once and I tried to remember which one was my favorite.
"Umm, could I have that one?" I asked, not remembering the name of it.
"The donut with jam on the inside?" She asked, confused.
"Oh uh, yes please." I told her. She nodded her head and grabbed a napkin and reached for the donut. She picked it up and handed it to me. Behind me I heard the bell go off signaling that someone walked in.
"Hey Steven! The usual?" Sadie asked. I turned my head and saw a kid about 13ish wearing sandals, shorts, and a bright red shirt with a yellow star on it. The kid had a bright smile on his face and walked towards Sadie and I.
"Yes please!" The kid named Steven yelled. Sadie chuckled and grabbed another napkin to grabbed 4 donuts and placed them in the bag. She placed the bag on the table and looked at me and held out her hand.
"That'll be $1. 75 cents." Sadie told me. I smiled at her and looked in my bag. I then realized I didn't bring my money and my smile faded.
"Crap..." I said out loud. The boy next to me opened his mouth to speak.
"I'll pay for you." The kid told me and smiled.
"No it's fine, I don't need it." I said, right after I said those words my stomach grumbled and the kids smile got bigger. He handed Sadie some money and Sadie smiled and handed the kid his bag of donuts.
"Those donuts will be $5 and 79 cents." The kid handed her even more money and grabbed the bag from Sadie. Sadie then put the money in the cash register and the kid walked towards the door. I followed him and pulled him aside outside of the big donut.
"You didn't have to do that kid." I told him. He smiled and shook his head.
"I wanted to, everyone needs donuts especially the big donuts donuts." He told me. He then extended his hand and I looked at it for a second and I reached out my hand.
"My names Steven by the way." The kid, Steven said. We shook hands for a few seconds and I pulled my hand away.
"My names Y/N." I told Steven, and his smile brightened.
"Well I gotta go, i'm gonna head to the beach." I told him and I turned and walked towards the beach. I the heard sandals hit the ground and Steven was next to me.
"I live in this direction, so i'll walk with you." Steven told me. I nodded my head and I kept walking, with him by my side.
"Do you live near the big donut?" Steven asked. I nodded my head.
"Yeah, I live close to Lars if you know where that is." I told Steven, doubting he'd know where Lars lived.
"Oh, that's close by. Are you his girlfriend or somethin'?" Steven asked. I blushed and I felt my cheeks heat up. Steven laughed at the look on my face.
"No, he's not my boyfriend, he just comes to my house if he has a fight with his parents. Lars isn't my type though." I told Steven. He nodded his head. He then looked confused.
"What is your type?" Steven asked. I shook my shoulders and looked at Steven.
"Not a person like Lars, i'll tell you that." I told Steven and he just nodded. We were silent for the rest of the walk and we were quickly at the beach. We stopped close to the beginning of the beach and Steven turned to look at me.
"Well, this is my stop. I'll see you later Y/N!" Steven said, walking away and waving towards me. I just smiled in his direction and I walked close to the water. I then found a nice spot and placed my bag down and I took my loose shirt and shorts off. I then walked towards the water and I soon felt the cold water on my feet. I walked deeper into the water and I was soon eloped in the water. I floated on top of the water and I closed my eyes so the sun didn't hurt that much when it hit my eyes. After floating for awhile I then held my breath and I dived under the water. It was kind of dark under the water but I think I see a weird hand monster that was green . The weird monster noticed me and floated towards me and I screamed under water and I quickly swam towards the surface of the ocean. Once I was at the surface I quickly swam towards the beach. I ran towards my stuff but I tripped over my bag. The monster then crawled up the beach and came towards me. Before I knew it the monster was right in-front of me and I saw a flash of color jump on top of the monster and I then saw Steven with a short purple girl with a whip and a tall slender woman with whitish colored skin and short brownish blond hair and a spear in her hand.
"Y/N!" Steven yelled and ran towards me. I looked him in the eye. He could tell I was frightened and confused and he had a look of concern. I then looked back at the creature and saw a tall woman with dark brown hair in the shape of a cube. The woman was beating the creature up with two gauntlets on each hand. It seemed she couldn't handle it herself and the other two woman ran towards creature and soon they both attacked it with their weapons. Before I knew it, the creature poofed and gem fell on the sand in front of me. The woman with the dark brown cubed shaped hair made the gauntlets disappear and she picked up the gem and formed a bubble around it and she moved her hands and the gem disappeared in thin air. The two other women soon made their weapons disappear. While I was watching this Steven was still beside me and I looked at the three women confused.
"Steven, what's going on?" I asked him. Steven scratched the back of his neck.
"Well, umm, I am a crystal gem, and these are the crystal gems that save Beach city every time a corrupted gem attacks. Can you guys show her your gems?" Steven asked the women. The tall slender woman and the short purple woman looked to the taller one. 'I guess she's the leader.' I thought. The taller woman nodded her head and the other two women walked towards me. The shorter purple woman walked towards me first. She quickly took my hand and shook it viciously.
"Hi! My names Amethyst!" The purple women said. She then pointed at the purple gem on her chest, "And this is my gem." Amethyst told me. I looked at her face and she smiled when I looked at her. She then walked back towards the tall and slender one. Then the tall and slender one walked towards me. She kneeled down and was face to face with me. She opened her mouth the speak but at first she didn't speak. Then it finally came out.
"Hi, my names Pearl." Pearl said, then she pointed towards her gem on her forehead, "And this is my gem." Pearl told me in a soft sweet voice. I kind of nodded and Pearl walked back towards Amethyst. Then the taller woman walked towards me and kneeled, like Pearl did. She held out her hand and shook mine.
"I'm Garnet. I'm a gem made of two smaller gems. My right hand," she said pointing at her right hand, "Is a gem called Sapphire. My left hand," she said pointing at her left hand, "Is a gem called Ruby." Garnet told me. She smiled and I nodded my head. I looked behind Garnet and saw that Pearl, and Amethyst had looks of confusion on their faces. Garnet then stood up and looked down at me.
"My names..." I started.
"Y/N. Nice to meet you." Garnet said.
"How did you know that?" I asked. Garnet then smiled and put her hand up to her glasses and moved them up.
"I have my ways." Garnet told me. I was still confused but I just nodded my head.
"Why are they confused?" I asked Garnet, pointing at the women behind them. Garnet turned around and looked at the women. Pearl then opened her mouth and spoke.
"Well, Garnet hasn't told anyone that when she first meets them. Amethyst and I are just confused as to why Garnet did that." Pearl told me. Garnet opened her mouth but closed it again. I could see a faint blush on Garnet's face and I chuckle. Garnet then moves her head straight towards me and straight away i'm scared.
"Sorry...." I told Garnet. Garnet chuckled at me and flashed me a smile.
"Don't be sorry, it's cute." Garnet told me. Now it's my turn to blush. I then looked at Pearl and Amethyst and both of them grab Steven and pull him away and they walk away to an unknown destination. Garnet then bends down and picks up my clothes and hands them to me.
"You should put these on." Garnet told me. I nodded my head and I put on my shorts and my loose top.
"Thanks." I told Garnet. She nodded and smiled.
"Why are you being so nice to me?" I asked her. She then stood stiff, like she saw something she was scared of.
"I.... I.... I don't know." Garnet said, stuttering. Before I knew it, she was gone in a flash. I stood there for a little bit and I put my flip flops back on and I was about to wrap the towel around me, but I realized I had been talking to the gems and Steven for so long that I wasn't wet anymore. I then put my towel in my bag and I swung my bag across my shoulder and I walked home. Once I was home I opened the door and went upstairs to take a shower. I took off my loose clothes and my swimsuit and went in the shower. I washed the sand off me and I washed my hair. After my shower I wrapped a towel around me and grabbed a smaller one to wrap up my hair. I walked to my room and put on a tank top and some pajama pants on.
'Bing-Bing!' I heard the door bell ring and I walked down the stairs. Once I was downstairs I opened the door and I was face to face with a crying... Lars. Lars looked at me once the door was open and he walked towards me and hugged me. I felt his tears on my shoulder and I wrapped my arms around him.
"What happened?" I asked him. He sniffled into my shoulder.
"My parents yelled at me for lying to them and then they said they didn't want me home tonight!" Lars yelled in my shoulder. When he said that I knew he was lying about what actually happened. I think they're the ones that lied to him and he yelled at them, and told him he didn't want to see them at the moment. I think this because his parents are actually really nice and Lars is the one that's difficult. I nod and I pull Lars away and I pull him in the house.
"Do you wanna go upstairs? Or do you wanna watch tv?" I ask him.
"I'll just head upstairs." Lars tells me.
"Good, 'cause I was about to head to bed." I tell him. I head upstairs and Lars follows behind me. I lead him to his room and he lays down. I pull the covers over him and I tell him goodnight, he just smiles and turns on his side and faces the wall. I chuckle and head towards the door and I switch off the light. I crack the door and I head to my room. I flick on the light and I close the door behind me. I walk to my bedside table and I switch the lamp light on and I walk back to my light switch and I turn it off. My lamp illuminates some of my room and I head to my bed. I move under the covers and I turn the lights on. I close my eyes and all I think about is the gems and Steven. The only gem I really think about is Garnet. I don't know why, but I want to know more of her. I smile and I slowly fall asleep. My dreams are mostly of Steven and the gems.
• Garnet's pov:
"Why did you tell her those things Garnet? She's a human, she doesn't need to know any of those things." Pearl tells me as i'm watching tv with Steven in front of me. I'm not really watching it, i'm mostly thinking. Ruby and Sapphire are bickering back and forth about  Y/N. I don't know why I told her about that. I'm made of love, I don't need anyone else. I'm so confused right now. A hand waves in front of my face and I stop thinking.
"Garnet? Are you okay?" Pearl asks. I nod my head but i'm not really. There's just something about Y/N. She's different then any other human i've met. I need to know more about  her.
"Garnet, why a human? She's not even a gem. Do... do you like her?" Pearl asks me. I shake my head and she huffs and goes back to watching the show on the television. Amethyst chimes in.
"Pearl, Y/N's pretty cool, she's chill. I'd love to see her again. Steven likes her too, we could all hangout or somethin'." Amethyst told Pearl.
"Yeah Y/N's cool, she's nice and seems to be generous. I think she could fight with us or train like Connie. Garnet likes her too, we could hangout and she could come to the house. She took the corrupted gem pretty well, she seems tough." Steven says out loud. Pearl and Amethyst look at me, as if asking if it would be okay.
"We can go to her house tomorrow and ask her if you'd like Steven." I told Steven, ruffling his hair. Steven looks at me and has a confused look on his face.
"Hey Garnet? Do you like Y/N?" Steven asked, with a smile on his face. My cheeks get warm and I turn stiff. I nod my head and I smile.
"I see that she'll love to fight with us." I tell everyone, Pearl looks confused and Amethyst and Steven are smiling, happy I said she'd love to fight.
"I'm going to my room. Goodnight everyone!" I yell, standing up and walking to my room. Pearl gives me a weird look and Amethyst and Steven wave at me. The door opens up and I enter my room. Ruby and Sapphire keep arguing, and before I know it, i'm split up into two.
