Catch and release

Hey guys, i'm back. I'm sorry that I stopped writing, I haven't really felt motivated lately. I will keep writing this story. Thank you for understanding.
•Steven's pov:
I look at the figure in the corner and I see Pearl.
"Pearl?" I ask Pearl but she just moves her head to look at me. I look down at her and I notice the stream of tears roll down her face. One of her hands covers over her nose and the other stays on her chest. She looks so sad and disheveled.
"Pearl what's wrong?" I ask Pearl and she just quickly shakes her head.
"Pearl you have to tell me....It's not healthy to keep these feelings inside." I tell Pearl and she looks down at the ground. The tears roll down her cheeks quicker than before and I kneel down to her height. She keeps her eyes on the floor and I sigh.
"Pearl. Is this all because of Garnet?" I ask Pearl but she just silently screams in her hands.
"Pearl... I know what Garnet said was hurtful, but she's just in shock. Pearl, she feels like what you felt like when you lost mom. She loves Y/N twice as more than you probably loved mom, she's 2 people and your one. I know your loss was hurtful and you felt pain but your not the only one that feels pain in the Crystal gems. Garnet said that she's an illegal fusion that shouldn't exist. She told Amethyst and I that it's all her fault that someone so important got taken away and how she couldn't even do a simple job to protect a human. She also said that if she went on homeworld and got shattered, no one would miss her. Pearl, she's heartbroken. You and her have that in common." I tell Pearl and she looks up at me, with one hand on her nose and the other still over her chest. She removes the hand from nose, her nose is wet from tears and her eyes bright red. So red I can see the color from them, even in the dark.
"She's right.... I'm just a stupid Pearl who knows nothing and just wants attention. I am jealous of Y/N, I really am. She has someone to love her and she's someone to love. She's just so much like Rose. I couldn't have Rose the first time and now.... I still can't have her. I know Y/N's in love with Garnet and Garnet is in love with Y/N, but everyone looks up to Garnet, she's our leader. I just think that maybe if I make Garnet hate Y/N then I can do something and I can make both of them feel better. Now Garnet hates me, and I don't want to go back to the temple because I don't want it to be like what it was like last time when I fused with her just to feel loved. Why do I always mess things up?" Pearl asks me and i'm shocked at first. I've never met my mom but I do know that Pearl has never stopped loving her, Amethyst and Garnet miss her too, she was the leader of the Crystal gems and she meant everything to each and every gem for different reasons. I don't really know those reasons, I just know that she told Garnet that she was the answer, and she told Amethyst she was perfect, but mom didn't have to do anything for Pearl because Pearl already loved being by moms side, mom was what Pearl wanted. It just makes me feel sorry for Pearl because she didn't get mom and now she can't get Y/N.
"Pearl... I'm sorry about Y/N. I don't think she knows that you like her. Think about when you lost mom, did you think you'd find someone else like her? Because you have found someone else, and if you have found someone now then you can find a different person again. Pearl, please don't give up." I tell Pearl and she soon gets a smile on her face. She leans forwards and hugs me, I hug her back gently and I hear her sniffle. I rub her back and I pull away.
"Thank you Steven. We should head back to the temple, I need to tell Garnet I'm sorry." Pearl tells me and I smile. I grab her hands and pull her up. We soon begin to walk to the temple. We walk in front of The big donut and I look through the doors. I see Lars and Sadie both crying but laughing. I slightly chuckle and I walk towards the doors. I push them open and Lars and Sadies laughs fade as I walk in. I look at Sadie and I see her scratch her neck, I also notice some pink in both of there cheeks.
"Oh uh, hey Steven." Sadie says to me with her blush getting darker. I look at Lars and see him smiling.
"Hey Steven! What're you doing out this late?!" Lars asks me with a slight chuckle, but I hear some worry in his voice. I don't quite understand why they're both blushing and nervous until I see them holding hands.
"Oh, I was just walking back to the temple with Pearl. I wanted to see if you guys were okay now." I tell them both and they look at their hands, and they pull their hands away from eachother.
"Uhh we're fine now, you can go now Steven." Lars tells me in a rush and I just chuckle.
"Oh, uh, yeah your probably right, i'm gonna go home." I turn around to leave and I push open the doors. I turn my head and I yell out,
"Have fun!" I chuckle and I run towards Pearl. She looks very confused as to why I ran towards her, but I just chuckle and she seems to brush it off. We walk to the temple and I quietly yawn. I hear Pearl chuckle and i'm soon greeted by the temple. I run up to the stairs and I run up. I open the screen door and I run to the bathroom. I quickly brush my teeth and use the bathroom but I hear Pearl and Amethyst talking. I crack open the door and I put my ear to it.
"Pearl! Where'd you go? I'm sorry about Garnet she was just upset, she didn't mean to do it." Amethyst quickly asks Pearl and I hear her take in a breath.
"Oh I was just ummm, walking! Yeah, walking. I kept walking around town until Steven found me and we walked back." Pearl tells Amethyst and I chuckle. 'Smooth moves Pearl.' I think until I hear footsteps walking towards the bathroom door. I quickly close it but Pearl opens it, she looks down at me and she tilts her head.
"Were you listening Steven?" Pearl asks me and I rub my shoulder.
"Ummmm....." I slowly tell Pearl and she just laughs. She puts her hand on my shoulder and squeezes.
"It's okay if you were listening Steven. Sometimes you might hear something worse though, it's not always going to be me and Amethyst talking. Now get to bed Steven." Pearl tells me and ruffles my hair. I put my hand to my forehead and I solute her. I walk out of the bathroom and I walk up the stairs to my bed. I plop on the bed not even bothering to put on my pajamas, and I pull the covers over me. I look down and see Amethyst flick off the lights and her and Pearl walk into their rooms. I chuckle and I close my eyes. Sleep soon envelopes me and I drift off into sleep.
•Y/N's pov:
I wake up and see darkness surrounding me. I jump out of bed and I feel a sharp pain in my foot. I fall to the ground and I clutch my foot. I can't tell what happened to my foot until the lights quickly flash on. I look up and I see an Amethyst and a Rose quartz. They both look down at me and see my foot. I then turn my gaze to my foot and I see crimson liquid running down my foot. I hold back a scream as I see the razor poking out of my foot. My blood runs all over the floor and I hear quick and heavy footsteps running towards me. Soon the Amethyst and Rose quartz are by my side and holding my foot up. The blood trickles down my foot and on to my pants, I feel my pants soak up the blood and I see the Amethyst reaching her hand towards the razor.
"No!! Don't touch it! I need a first aid kit or something!" I yell at them and their eyes pop out of their heads. The Rose quartz lets go of my foot and my foot collides with the hard ground. I don't try to stand, knowing the razor would just go farther into my foot. I place my legs in a criss cross apple sauce position, with my injured foot up top. I barely see the razor due to the blood soaking it. I notice that the razor is halfway in lodged in my foot. I place one of my hands over my mouth and I scream into my hand. My screams in pain are just muffled and I soon notice the Amethyst running through the door with a bag. I breath a sigh of relief until she lands next to my legs, she opens up the bag and I see a bottle of water, some gauze, and some super glue. I prob myself up with one hand and I grab the gauze and water with the other. I look at my foot and I put the water and gauze by my side, I reach my hand towards the razor and I get a firm grip on it.
"Oh my god! Ow ow ow, that really really hurts!" I whisper under my breath and I slightly pull. More blood pools out of the cut and I take in a breath. I notice all the blood on my foot and I let go of the razor and I untwist the cap off if the bottle. I pour some of the water on my foot and the blood washes away. Unfortunately not all of the blood washes away but most of the blood is still by the razor. I breath through my teeth and I set the water bottle on the ground. I then place my hand back in the razor and I gently pull. The razor barely budges and I soon feel water dripping down my face. I brush it off and I just gently breath. More blood gushes out of the cut and my while foot is soon covered in blood again. I don't even bother to wash the blood off and I just give the razor a hard yank and I feel the razor in my hand but a huge gash in my foot. I look at the hole in my foot and blood quickly seeps out. My breathing quickens and I reach for the water bottle, I pour the water over my foot and the blood washes away. I then quickly reach for the gauze and I dig my nails underneath the first layer of gauze and I peel it off the roll like duct tape. I wrap it around my foot until I don't see blood through it anymore. I fall on my back and my breathing soon returns to it's normal state. I wipe at the tears on my face and I flick them off. I close my eyes and I breath in and out. I soon feel eyes on me and I open my eyes. I see the Amethyst and Rose quartz looking down at me. I chuckle and clutch my head.
"Gee, thanks for helping me." I tell them both but they just blush a bright pink and purple. They both frown and look at eachother.
"We're sorry Y/N. We don't know the human anatomy and we don't know how to help. We wanted to joke around with you by scaring you with the lights off but got hurt. We're so sorry, we didn't know that would happen." The Rose quartz tells me and I just sigh. I sit up and I pat each of their shoulders.
"I was just joking guys. I mean, you guys could've at least offered to help, but it's fine now. But next time someone is hurt, offer to help." I say to them and they just nod their heads. They do that hand signal thing and they stand up. They offer me one of their hands and I look at them quizzically. Rose chuckles and the Amethyst sighs.
"The diamonds want you right away. We're here to take you to them." The Amethyst tells me and I roll my eyes.
"Of course we didn't want you to hurt yourself, but they need you right away. So i'm sorry but you have to get up." Rose tells me and I nod my head. I slowly stand up and my legs wobble. I put my arms out into a T position to balance myself. The Amethyst grabs my one arm and Rose grabs the other. They both help balance me and we walk towards the door. The doors slide open and we walk out into the corridor. They help me walk, but then I remember a few hours ago. Jasper!
"Uhh guys is Jasper okay?" I ask them both and they glance at eachother.
"Well um she came in about 6 hours ago crying her eyes out. She said she made a fool of herself in front of you and some of the other gems tried to make her feel better, but others like Amethyst didn't ask her if she was okay." Rise tells me and I hear the Amethyst scoff.
"Yeah, whatever! She always does stupid stuff like that. It's not the first time." The Amethyst tells Rose and Rose just rolls her eyes. We soon reach tall doors and the Amethyst and Rose let go of my arms. I balance myself out until I can stand still. The Amethyst types stuff on the key pad and the doors open.
"We'll see you on the other side Y/N. Good luck." The Amethyst tells me and I turn my head towards her.
"Your leaving me?!" I yell at them both but the Amethyst just shrugs. Rose holds up her thumbs and gives offers me a smile. I take in a breath and I walk through the doors. I hear the doors close behind me and I look up and see complete brightness. I shield my eyes away from the light and I hear a scoff. I move my hands away from my face and I see some big black eyes and some big plump black lips. I scrunch up my eyes, and I see a tall bright woman holding her arms out and a cape drapes under her arms. The cape has stars and planets on it and this tall woman just chuckles at my shocked expression. The plump lips twist up into a grin and I see bright white teeth. By this tall woman's side, I see Yellow and Blue sitting on their thrown.
"There you are! Welcome back Y/N!"
