Chapter 9

As I run up to see who is jumping first, I suddenly get pushed to the ground.

"What's up smiley face?" Says Tyler grabbing my hand to pull me up again.

"Okay, I will be your friend. Just please don't call me smiley face," I reply brushing the rubble off my dress.

"Whatever, and I am not your friend."

"Okay fine! I just assumed that since you kept talking to me and-"

"Hey! Hey you! The...uh....Amity chick," someone yells as I turn to face them.

"Yeah you, come over here and show these wusses what dauntless is about," he yells in my ear.

"But I don't know the first thing about daun-"

"Jump!"

I stand up on the wall and tuck my hair behind my ear.

"No fear. No fear," I tell myself.

I hesitate and just as I'm about to jump, I am pushed.

I start falling down to what looks like and endless pit of darkness.

As I get closer to the ground I see a weird netted wall that catches me.

"Thank god..." I mumble as someone helps me off the net.

"Was I first to jump?" I say grabbing the hand he offers.

"No, there where several people before you," he replies gesturing to the limping person being carried by two others.

I nod and walk to where they are standing.

"Oh and what's your name?" He asks.

"Cassan....." I reply in a soft mumble.

"What?"

"Cassy," I firmly reply.

"Amity transfer, Cassy!" He yells up.

I wave and walk to the small cluster which is gradually becoming bigger.

"Okay. We are going to give you guys the tour today and tomorrow you start physical training," he says guiding us to follow him.

We walk around several turns and rooms before we find the room that is our dorm.

"You all share one room and-" he is cut off bye the high giving of hands from the boys and groaning of the girls.

"Oh really? Well if you like this you love the bathrooms.

We walk into a room with several toilets and no stalls and several sinks all clumped into the middle.

All of the clapping has stopped, it's all just groans now.

"Better get comfortable!" As the person who was giving the tour says as he leaves the room.

"I'll be back in about an hour to give you the rest of the tour, until then, bye!"

I go over and sit down on one of the empty beds and turn to look who I'm sitting beside.

Tyler is face to face with me and we both lock eyes for a split second.

I look away and start to talk to him, "so, bunk mates huh?"

"I guess so smiley face," he says looking at the wall.

"Don't call me that. You are an amity transfer too you know."

"What ever," he says smiling and standing up to go talk to some other people.

I lay down on my bed and a flash of memories comes back. My family. My sisters. And my home.

I can't believe I thought things where going fine.

I turn over and stuff my face into my pillow forcing back tears.
