Chapter 3
Still shaking, the people helping with the test lead me to the room where my test will begin.
The walls are glowing it seams like. Almost as if I was walking on the sun.
Suddenly the people leading me stop and turn around. I am standing next to a row of more amity kids and they all look as confused as I am. While I am still trying to figure out what's happening, the metal doors in front of all of us open and we walk into our separate rooms.
I slowly walk in and note that the walls seam to be made of mirrors, while the floors are cement.
"Hello, I'm Christine, I'll be administrating the test to you. Please sit," says the lady in the room while quickly typing on a computer.
"Ok....." I say sitting in the huge chair.
She walks over and hands me a blue liquid.
"What?" I ask cluelessly.
"Drink," she replies.
"Oh, well I- um," I start to say but she interrupts me with "just, drink it please."
I slurp the strange liquid down and start to feel very sick. I close my eyes for two seconds and re-open them, only I'm in a totally different room covered in mirrors everywhere, tons and tons. "Make a choice," my reflection says. "What choice?" I ask it.
"Choose or die," it says again.
"Choose what!?" I say getting frustrated.
I see a table with a dagger and a steak sitting on it. I pick both up.
"What choice?" I ask my self again.
I turn around and in my face is a terrifying, huge beast. I drop the meat for it to eat then take the dagger and run. Just as I stop to catch my breath I notice a bark in the background. I slowly turn around and see that there's a whole pack of wild beast behind me. I drop the knife in fear and keep running. My legs will give out if I keep running any longer, but it's either run, or let the dogs eat me. I choose to keep running.
Just as I think I'm going to faint, the barking becomes little yaps. I turn around again, but this time I see little puppies. I go up to them to pet the dogs and hear a small voice in the back. "They're puppies!" Says the faint voice. I turn around once more to find a little girl, who oddly enough looked like my little sisters twin, walking up to me. I smile and turn back to the dog, but it's not a puppy any more. The beast is back and I yell to the little girl, "run! They'll kill you!" The girl starts to run, but the dog is faster. I can't keep up with the girl but I'm right next to the dog. Not knowing what else to do, I kick the dog in the side and jump onto it.
I start sinking into the floor, just as I wake up from what was really just the test. I'm sitting in the same chair, in the same room, with the same lady, who at the moment looked very puzzled.
"You did say you where amity, right?"
"Both my parents where born and raised there too," I reply.
"Interesting, because your results state differently,"
"Why what where they?"
"Dauntless," she replies, "pretty much the polar opposite of amity."
"Then what do I choose tomorrow?"
"What ever your heart wants you to,"
