Nick POV:
I was laying on my bed, thinking. While I was thinking I was tossing my small red bouncy ball in the air and catching it. I was contemplating whether or not to just leave life all together, and commit suicide, after all I was sick of this feeling.

"Why must I be so lonely?" I asked myself out loud.

It was a very serious question. I had just suffered yet another breakup. This time the girl I thought liked me left me after just two days, without any explanation. It made me feel as if there was nothing that could have been done to prevent it. I sighed again as I heard him.

"How many does this make Nick?"

That was my inner voice. His name, and yes he has a name, is Chris. He was the only person, well I guess I should say entity, that had stuck by my side my whole life. He told me he was the brother that I never got to meet in the flesh, however he never told me why I will never meet him face to face.

I sighed sadly before answering out loud to no one, well I'm still not sure if Chris counts as someone or not. However, I was clearly upset.

"This makes I think around eight..."

Chris began thinking, "Come on Nick, this doesn't mean your destined to be alone forever. It just means you haven't found the right one..."

I snapped back harshly, tired of hearing the same words over and over again, "So then tell me, where is the right one? Why haven't I found her!?"

I felt Chris get angry and go to sleep. I sighed loudly, regretting my outburst. I went back to tossing the ball. Catching it until I dropped it because of the feeling I haven't had since I was ten. That was the feeling that I was being watched...

??? POV:
I'm so happy daddy let me come to this world. I've been keeping an eye on him for awhile now. Ever since he became aware of me watching him on his fifteenth birthday I had to pull back and be more subtle. I couldn't afford to lose him, if I did I wouldn't know what to do with my life. I wouldn't be able to kill myself, I am a demon after all. I've seen so many possible lovers of his come and go, each time Nick was rejected it seemed to hurt him more than the last. I couldn't help but wish that I could introduce myself to him now, he looks so sad, almost as if he didn't care for life anymore.

"You'll be mine soon enough, Nick. I'll see you when school starts, then I'll love you forever. And you'll love me, whether you want to or not." I whispered to myself before heading to the house next door. The house that I went into was left to rot, lucky for me I found it before it was destroyed.

I won't lose you my love, I'll keep you, no matter the cost.

Nick POV:
I decided to ignore the feeling and head downstairs to watch TV. My parents are hardly ever home, meaning that for the most part I live alone. I'm not going to complain, they were always so over protective of me. They always had a bunch of crazy rules that never made sense to me, and those rules probably never will make sense to me.

I turned on the flat-screen TV, I turned it to the news for the weather. When I got to the right channel, I heard the news reporter happily telling people that tomorrow is the first day of school. Man I hated school.

I growled at the TV, "Damn it, another year of complete and utter boredom, and to make matters worse I'm the only person who doesn't have any friends, or a relationship."

Chris woke up and started talking again. I was glad he was awake, when I felt angry Chris is normally the only thing that could get me back to my normal mood.

Chris teased, "You never know Nick. Maybe there's a new student, a new female student..."

I chuckled, finding that idea to be completely him and his delusional thinking, "Yeah and maybe I'll get a girlfriend this week. Anyways we should really get to bed, it's almost 10..."

Chris just replied, "Let's just focus on what tomorrow will bring."

After Chris feel asleep I whispered, "Goodnight world, good riddance."

As I tried to fall asleep I found that it came to me a lot quicker than I thought it would. Soon the gray walks gave way to the darkness of my eyelids and I thought I saw someone outside my window....

??? POV:
My heart almost skipped a beat, he saw me! Well I guess that just means that we are meant for each other, see you soon my love.

Nick POV:
[Dreamworld]
I was walking down in a strange place, all of the buildings were black and red in color, and everyone seemed to have disappeared. The sky was a deep shade purple mixed with black clouds. I admired the beauty of this place, I loved the colors that this world consisted of. Then I heard shuffling coming from inside one of the buildings.

I called out, "Hello? Is anyone there?"

Then I saw someone or thing run up to me on four limbs, almost like a dog. When it saw me I noticed the tail, which was broken, went and stood as straight up as it could. Growling it charged at me. I started running as fast as I could. The thing made horrible choking sounds, almost as if its neck had been snapped. I saw an open door, is was as if something was wanting me to get there, and thought I would be able to make it without dying. At least that was my thoughts until I tripped over nothing. While on the ground, I spun around just in time to see the thing jump at me, its fangs were right about to sink into my throat.

But then I heard a strange, grumbling voice say, "Ax! Down!"

I breathed out a sigh of relief, that was until I felt a blade make its way though my skull. The blade was twisted, making me feel like my brain was being turned into a smoothie.

The voice said, "Be glad my daughter wants you, not many live after this dream..."
