DANAE
DANAE was doing her usual morning walks in one of the great halls of the Via Centralis. The Castle is as huge as a person can imagine it to be. The many walls of the castle had stood for ages as it witnessed great wars; every corridors and passages had heard secrets as dark as the night; the crystal tower—the sigil that symbolizes the magnificence of the Via Centralis—had proven its pride as it gives hope to all the people of the land.
It’s been… she thought for a while, a hundred years? Maybe. For Danae had lost track of the years that pass. Her ability, she thought once more, may have been a curse after all rather than a gift. She was deemed to be the wisest of person in the vast land of Lithonia; her voice speaks counsel for past rulers of the Land, but, it came with a price. Her age is now a hundred years, but her body is an average for a twenty year old girl. Thus, she remained vibrant and young; her physique unwavering, and her existence unending. But Danae, the wisest of them, know that it’s not the case for other people…especially for those she loved who was already taken by time. She knew the painful truth of existence, that sometimes death may come as a blessing to a person who had witnessed life’s tragedies. A blessing that she would never get.
Her attention was distracted by the incessant chirping of a bird who landed comfortably in the windowsill. “Dear” she gave a short glace pretending the creature can understand her, “also marveling at this wonderful hall?” she smiled and returned her eyes to the long isle she ‘s walking. Though the castle hold many halls, this one located near the throne room is her personal favorite. It’s because the sun always rises on this side of the castle making beauty visible to her naked eyes. By the time she tried to give the bird another glance , it was already flapping it’s little wings away. Another reason why it became her personal favorite was the paintings installed on the wall. It was several art works depicting the past events of Lithonia that she had witnessed personally. It was like looking into a picture perfect moment of the land’s history. And the most priceless is the one located near the entrance of the hall—The AlphaOmega.
It was the beginning for mankind when a heavenly creature described as neither man nor beast had created the world. In ancient texts it was described to be covered by an immense light which many know as its divine form. It created not only the vast lands and seas, but also gave man (of selected genes and bloodline) special abilities to protect what it has created.
She stepped and looked at the next painting—it was titled the fall of men, because when men discovered the potential of their abilities, they started to be greedy and use those normal people to their advantage. Thus, the Great Divine created four rings to maintain balance. Four rings that was yielded in the AlphaOmega’s own existence. With this, the balance of Lithonia was restored….up until today.
She exited the hall as she entered the throne room which remained dim despite the sun outside. For her, it was a symbol of the darkness they are currently facing. The disequilibrium that Lithonia is facing because the guardians of the Rings are still nowhere to be found—or at least the other three. She was already halfway thru when she heard a fast pacing footstep approach her. she squinted her eyes because for a moment she was unable to see the figure of the man, but later on found out it was Chryses.
“Doyen Danaer…” he was catching his breath as he wipe beads of sweat in his forehead. “Lord El, asked for an urgent meeting in the council room the soonest possible time.”
She tilted her head in confusion “Has something happened, Chryses?” it’s not usual for Lord El to call a meeting so urgent without any advisements. For once she looked at Chryses’ lilac pupils and she can see the fear it contains.
