"Are you seriously just going to sit there all day watching reruns of The Legend Of Korra?" Cameron asks me with a disapproving tone.

"Yep," I reply staring straight at the TV without even glancing at her.

"Why? You know the first season makes you cry harder than a newborn," she points out. "Aren't you getting lightheaded being upside down like that?"

"Nope." With my head hanging off the edge of the couch and everything playing out upside down on the screen I'm actually quite relaxed. I might get a head rush if I sit up but I'm not too worried about that at the moment.

"Will you give me a real answer? Like, more than one word?" Cameron complains.

"Maybe."

"Ugh! Forget it!" I hear her stomp off into the kitchen and I smile to myself.

I sit on the couch with my legs over the headrest and my head almost touching the hardwood floor, a kink starting to form annoyingly in the back of my neck. I was bored out of my mind so I decided that since Cameron was going to force me to try on prom dresses with Gabby and her today, I was going to at least get caught up on some television or watch an old favorite.

Prom night was finally here and I was not enjoying it one bit. Not only did I have a major headache this morning when I woke up, but I was really not in the mood for high heels and makeup. Cameron on the other hand, could not wait to pull out her umpteen pallets of eye shadow and try on umpteen different pairs of shoes to match with the umpteenth perfect dress. She had dragged me along with her to the mall again to help her pick out some jewelry and to get her hair done at the salon, forcing me to look through hairstyle magazines in the hopes that I'd find one and get my hair done with her. It didn't happen at all like she intended. She wanted me to at least get my nails done but I told her that everyone would just have to settle for my baby pink glittery nail polish and deal with it.

"Audry, up up up. No more rubbish," Cameron says. She took the remote out of my hand and turned off the TV before I could get away from her or fight for the remote.

"Hey! I was watching that!" I reply.

"Yeah, was. Now get up. We have dresses to try on and Gabby will be here any second." At that moment, the doorbell rang and I groaned with dread. She might be a little bit of an airhead sometimes but the girl had great timing. How Cameron found a friend in her was beyond my comprehension.

"Now, Audry. Up!" I flipped around and set my feet on the ground and stood up. I swayed a bit as the blood came rushing back through my body and I blinked a few times before everything was still again. So maybe she was right about it not being a good idea to hang off the couch like that. I'd probably end up doing it again in the future but at least now I could figure out a better way of repositioning myself. Cameron answered the door and Gabby walked in with at least five dresses in one hand and a huge bag of makeup in the other. One look at everything let me know that it was so not going to be an easy afternoon for me.
