Chapter 22: Gender Reveal.
Xander and I walked hand in hand into the hospital towards my doctor's room after the secretary told us it was our time to go in. I squeezed Xander's hand causing him to look down at me with a reassuring smile, it helped me relax with my nervousness a bit but I still had anxiety running through my bones.
When we entered the room, she looked up from her computer adjusting her glasses as she sent us a smile. "Welcome, Mr. and Mrs.King." She greeted, standing up from her chair.
"Hello." I greeted sending her a sweet smile.
She grinned at us. "So, you both are here to find the gender out? Am I right?" She asked, glancing between the two of us.
Xander had a cocky smirk as he looked down at me causing me to chuckle. "I already know it's a boy." He reassured, causing the doctor to let out a little laugh.
She shook her head crossing her arms. "Men." She muttered, as she walked around her desk. "Anyways. Shall we find out if Mr.King is right?" I nodded my head, she led us to the second room attached to her office.
I went over and placed myself on the uncomfortable bed, as she prepared everything while Xander made his way to my other side grabbing my hand interlocking it with his while he planted a soft kiss onto my knuckle.
I stroked his hand with my thumb while the doctor came back placing the cool gel onto my bare stomach causing me to flinch a little at the cold feeling. Xander tensed from my flinch causing me to look over at him with a reassuring smile, he relaxed his muscles looking at the computer when she placed the remote to my stomach as we both stared at the computer.
She revealed a baby that was half grown causing me to gasp as I squeezed Xander's hand with my heart fluttering at the sight. "This is your little baby. Developing healthy, heart is beating healthy as well. Your baby is perfectly healthy." I couldn't help but let tears form into my eyes staring at the computer screen. "He's shy as well." My head snapped towards the doctor's direction with my eyes growing wide.
"He?" I repeated, she grinned at me.
"Your husband has great instinct. You should trust it from now on." She let out a little laugh.
My head turned to Xander who was staring at the computer with bright eyes and a little smile playing on his lips before his eyes flickered to mine. "I told you." My lips broke into a smile, as my upper teeth latched onto my bottom lip.
The doctor removed the remote and wiped the gel off my stomach. "Would you like a printed picture?" She asked, while I sat up pulling my shirt back down.
"Yes, please." Xander and I said at the same time. She glanced between us before giving us a small nod and walking out of the room.
I turned to Xander with a smile. "What did I tell you?" He asked with a victory charming smile.
I slipped off the bed. "Ryder will be happy to know we are having a son after all he wants us to name our son after him." I reminded making Xander roll his eyes. "I actually like the name Ryder." I teased, Xander sent me a look.
"Ryder ruined the name Ryder from me." I shook my head, letting out a chuckle. "Anyways. We should head back home, you must be tired we've been out all morning." I nodded my head, as we walked out of the room and towards the doctor.
