[Chapter Three] It's all natural

Arianna's point of view

The second Dales hosepipe broke again, Jim said now would be the perfect opportunity to leave him.

We all said good-bye to Jim. Before I could walk away, Jim stopped me.

"Do you have a funny joke?" He asks. I think for a moment.

"Yeah. Three girls are sitting together at a bar: a blonde, a brunette, and a girl with green hair. A man walks up to them and says "You girls have beautiful hair. Do you dye it?" The blonde looks at him and runs her hand through her hair saying "It's all natural." The brunette looks at him and runs her hand through her hair saying "It's all natural." Finally the green haired girl sneezes into her hand and runs her hand through her hair saying "It's all natural."

Jim started laughing painfully and then died away. "Goodbye, Jim." I say, Limping back to Ricks car.

We arrive at the CDC after a short while. Carol helps me by letting me lean on her to get to safety. We reach the door and then I hear the walkers moans.

"Shit! Walkers!" I tell the group. I grab my knife out of my pocket and fling it in a walkers face. I collect the knife with great difficulty.

Rick begins to bang on the door, Screaming at whoever is on the other side. At this point, I'm basically tripping over myself more than protecting anyone.

All of a sudden, We're blinded by light. I turn around, Looking at the man with a gun. I sigh, Putting my head in my hands.

"Your not even.. Never mind." I mumble.

"Is anyone infected?" The guy asks. I put my hand over my leg. The guy noticed. "Are you bit?" He asks. I shake my head.

"No. I fell out of tree." I lie. What really happened.. Well I don't want to talk about it.

"You all submit to a blood test. That's the price of my hospitality."

I sit in the chair, Next to Carol. Sophia is getting her blood test, And Its my turn soon.

Sophia wobbles over to us, Signaling that its my turn. I stand up and limp over to the table.

"This is just a fuckin' waste of time.." I hear Daryl growl.

"Shut up, Dixon. There's children around." I shoot towards him. "You don't want them repeating you."

"Shut up, Girl." Daryl shoots back. Once the test is done, Carol helps me stand up.

After everyone is done getting their tests done, We got a dinner. I was pouring myself a glass of whisky when Carl spoke up.

"Mom can I have some?" Carl asks, Pointing at my glass. Rick starts to chuckle.

"Absolutely not!" Lori says. "You are too young to be drinking whisky!"

"He can have some wine. He can have some whisky another time." Rick says. Dale gets a glass of wine.

"No, he's not drinking anything but water and soda."

In the end, Carl ended up drinking the wine.

After the dinner, The doctor guy says there's hot water. Once everyone has a room, There's one left.

"I guess your doubling with Dixon." Carol smirks. I freeze in place.

"Nope. Not happening. No way in hell. I wouldn't even be caught dead with that man." I hiss. Carol just chuckles.

"Well you can't stay with me. There's no room."

"Cant you just kick out Andrea? Or   T-dog?" I ask. She shakes her head and walks away.

I awkwardly walk in the room I'm sharing with Daryl.

"So um. We're sharing a room." I quietly say. He just grunts and rolls over. "I'm gonna take a shower unless you were." I awkwardly say. He just rolls over once more.

I strip my clothing and enter the shower, Turning in the water.

The warm water felt nice dripping off my shoulders and face. I clean out my hair, watching as the two months of grime and blood go down the drain.

As I begin to shave my legs, I wrap my leg, Not wanting the soap to infect it.

I dry off and put my hair in a towel. I put on a shirt, Jeans and my red leather jacket and walk out the bathroom.

As I lay in bed, Listening to Daryl's light breathing from across the room, I drift off to my deep sleep.

I wake up to Daryl shouting at me and shaking me awake. I slowly open my eyes, Making him jump back and grab his knife.

"Jesus.. Why do you gotta yell so loud, Dixon?" I mumble, Rubbing my face. I get off of the floor and roll up the blanket. I go into the bathroom to brush my teeth and blonde hair.

I walk into the kitchen to T-dog making eggs.

"Mornin'" I say, Sitting down. Daryl sits down across from me, Followed by Andrea, Who sat next to me.

"I never thanked you." Andrea says. I lift an eyebrow, Pouring myself some orange juice.

"For what?" I ask. She sighs.

"When Ed tried to drown me. You were quick on your feet and pulled me out." She tells me. I tilt my head.

"You really think i'd let you drown?" I ask. She shrugs. "Blondie, It may seem that I hate you, But i don't. I would never let a human die or in your case, Drown."

"Anyways, Thank you." She says.

After breakfast, We went to find the doctor. Rick wanted answers and I just wanted a drink.

"Play me a playback of TS-19." The doctor says. The robot voice, Vi repeats him and completes his order.

After showing us how the walker reanimates, Dale spoke up.

"I don't mean to bother you with anymore questions, Doctor, But that clock is counting down." All of us turns to look at the clock. "What happens at zero?" He asks.

"The uh. The basement generators shut down." The doctor says, Walking away. Rick orders T-dog, Glenn and Shane to check the generators. Carol comes up to me.

"Ari, I know that your leg is injured, But Lori put me in charge to check in on Carl. Can you please watch both Sophia and Carl for me?" Carol asks. I nod with a smile.

"Of course, Carol." I reply.

I take both Sophia and Carl to the rec room. There, Carl is drawing a dragon, Sophia drawing a dog and Me drawing a flower. I glance at the doll in Sophia's lap. I notice that she takes it everywhere.

"I never had any toys." Sophia sweetly says. "My daddy said I'm too much of a mess without them."

My heart shattered.

"Your not a mess, Sophia. I don't think you are." I say, Ruffling her hair. Just then, The power flashed off.
