I looked at my acrylics that I had just gotten done carefully admiring them

Getting in the car I sat there for a minute

Looking in the rear view mirror touching my red sensitive skin around my eye brows

Them people be waxing the hell outta ya face.

I put my hair behind my ear and then started driving

Twisting my mouth up as I rubbed my lips together spreading the lip gloss

I stopped and got some McDonald's

Afterwards I started driving thinking about what Jr said to me

It's not everyday you hear your own kid tell you something like that..

His words echoed in my head

I shook my head and focused back on the road

3 hours later

I sat on the couch with the heating pad firmly against my lower abdomen

My stomach is cramping so bad from my period that it's killing me

I ran out of Advil

Picking up my phone about to call Lucas he came through the door with the kids

" Shit " I cursed

" What's wrong? " he asked closing the door while swinging a bag

" I was gonna ask you to bring some Advil but never mind your already here " I said

He smiled and handed me the bag

Looking inside it had some tea , pads , candy and some Advil

" I remembered around the beginning of a new month ya period comes on and hopefully those are the right pads you use.. " he said lifting my feet and sitting down putting them back on his thighs

" Aww.. yeah they are thanks babe " I said

" It's my job to make sure you good so no need to thank me " he said

I leaned up and grabbed his face as we pecked lips

" I gotchu when it goes away " I said

He smirked

Laying back down I looked at the cartoon that was on tv

" Awh shit bubble guppies " Lucas said smiling brightly

I laughed

He's so adorable

I had opened the tea and popped a Advil in my mouth drinking it down

Then I laid back and the kids came from downstairs and sat in front of the tv with some toys

" No! J'liyah I don't wanna play with you if all your gonna do is whine just get the stupid car " Jr said

" Your not the boss of me Jr " she said

" I'm older then you " he said

" So? Your not daddy or mama your only Jr " she said while playing with her doll

Jr grabbed the doll from her

" HEY! " she yelled reaching for it

Before I knew it she pounced on him taking him and her to the ground and they were going at it

I looked at Lucas as he looked at me and we shook our heads in unisons

" Aye! " Lucas said in a deep voice

I bit my lip

Jr and J'liyah stopped instantly and looked at him

" Stop doing allat fighting and play fairly or imma make y'all put them toys up... Don't forget y'all still not fully ungrounded for acting out at daycare " he said

J'liyah and Jr got up and he handed her the toy as they sat down and started playing

Me and Lucas made eye contact and he looked proud

I just rolled my eyes smiling and he went back to running his hand up and down my leg
