Shane's POV

The summer is over and school will resume tomorrow morning. I can't believe I just sat in my room the entire summer. Oh wait yes I can.

I'm currently at Ari's place. I didn't want to be home since my mom and her boyfriend are probably drunk and fucking.

"I am actually feeling good about this year." She said while putting her stuff in her legend of zelda backpack. She had just got her hair done and it was black, pink, and silver. It looked nice.

"I just want the year to be over." I said.

"The year hasn't even started yet." She replied. I mentally curse her out but on the outside I chuckled.

"Hey babe." Said her boyfriend Larke while walking into the room. He grabbed her by the waist and kissed her. She pulled away, embarrassed that he kissed her in front of me.

"Shane you gonna go for football this year?" He asked. I mentally curse him out. When I'm around these two, I curse them out mentally on a regular basis.

"No I'm not. I'm probably just going to join some nerdy club." I said with a shrug. Larke took a seat on her bed.

"You should get out more." He said.

"Ari your boyfriend is stupid." I said like he wasn't even there. He just fake cried to Ari. She hugged him.

"Can you leave Larke? Shane and I need to talk." He pouted.

"Okay." He gave her a kiss on the cheek and left.

"Okay so tell me all about this guy. Oh wait!" She said with excitement in her voice. She went to her secret stash of snacks amd pulled put a family bag of spicy Doritos. "I'm ready." She said while eating the Doritos.

"Okay so I don't know what he looks like, but he is just a cool guy. He accepts the fact that I'm gay." I whispered the gay part. "He seems like a really cool friend." I said.

She stopped eating her Doritos. "But?"

"But I kinda like him."

She choked on her Doritos.

"WHAT THE FUCK!" She yelled.

"I know I know. Its the number one rule to being gay. Do not fall for a straight guy." I said hysterically.

"Ugh Shane this is heart breaking. We don't even know if the guy goes to school with us. You should go on his facebook page and see what he looks like." She said. I just stared at her like I was deer in the headlights.

"You can do that?" She slapped herself.

"You have much to learn about the internet." She said with a giggle.

All of a sudden, Larke comes barging into the room. He was shirtless and only in a towel.

"Larke! What are you doing!?" She yelled. Her face was flushed.

"Okay I'm going to go home now and let you two handle your business." I said while getting up off the floor.

"Shane don't leave me here with this!" She said while pointing at her boyfriend. I just waved and walked out the room.

As I was walking out the house, her mom had pulled in the drive way. She gets out her car.

"Hi Shane." She said with a welcoming smile. She locked her car and proceeded over to me.

"Hi Mrs griffin. Just getting off of work?" I asked. I loved her mom. She treated me like her own son.

"Yeah. You aren't staying for dinner?" She asked.
