 Silas' POV

I stabilized myself as I stood up after our tremulous landing and looked towards the carriage which was turned over not that far away from us. The driver of the carriage was also safe as he too had jumped from the carriage but unfortunately he wasn't able escape from getting hurt.

He injured his left shoulder; his left leg too was bleeding profusely and had already lost consciousness. I walked up to him and only when I made sure that his life wasn't in danger, I let out a heavy sigh of relief. On the other hand, Edmund was still in shock from the events that just occurred but by the time he gasped the situation there was a sword touching his neck. The cold sensation of metal on his skin had him in cold sweat.

His expression at that time was truthfully, precious. But if Lilian got to know about someone innocent getting hurt I don't want to imagine or think about it at all. And I'm not talking about Edmund, it's the carriage driver.........don't get the wrong idea will you.

"Under the orders of His Imperial Majesty The King we, the imperial knights, are here to take the Baron of Solfia fief with us under the suspicion of illegal act of extracting magic from people and even causing casualty." The young knight said.

"I'm sorry but I serve the Oletha Family not the king himself so I don't see any need for me to obey any order from you or the king." A wide grin spread across my face, the atmosphere around me went eerie. Watching my expression in such a situation where I was obviously outnumbered broke the smirk on the knight's face.

He spread his legs a little far apart as he got into the stance where he could comfortably attack. The others followed his lead as he took some steps back mixing into the crowd who also covered him from my view. After having a better look at them I'm sure they are all new recruits. Seriously Haelan needs to think more about who he chooses to send to do his work and against whom. Does he think I'll help him train these newborn chicks? They just got the position of the imperial knights and they are flaunting it. I want to kick their asses but I seriously don't want to help Haelan to train them. But whatever if I can beat them I may..........hah......whatever I have to save him anyway.

One of the young knights suddenly started to come and attack me. He started to swing his sword, his stance and, moreover, his aim was so bad. I dodged all his attacks effortlessly and made him trip too; well technically he tripped by himself but I have to save his face a little.

He cried out a battle cry and charged towards me, blindly. Although I do want to play with him a little more I have more important things to deal with and someone who can't even think of his own about what strategy to attack with, this guy can never be an imperial knight. Well at least not a good one anyway.

I evaded his attack and hit his neck rendering him unconscious. As his body hit the ground, many were able to understand the difference between our strength and took up a defensive stance. I went near the knocked out young night and took his sword, as I did so the others who were standing not so far away from me started to back away immediately.

A smirk appeared on my face as I saw their reaction. 'At least some are able to assess what their situation is.' I thought in my heart as I stabbed the unconscious young knight on ground. I looked up and saw the horrified looks on the faces of these new recruits. Waving the swords once and the blood was off the sword. Everyone was so scared as they didn't think twice before taking some steps back, at least that is what I think because there response was too well timed.

I got in fighting stance and charged at them, full force. After slashing some of them I finally had a view of Edmund's face. His face was as pale as ghost, with horrified expression hiding none of his feelings. He let out a shriek like scream when the imperial knight held a sword near his neck.

"Take one more step forward and I'll slit his throat." threatened the knight causing me stop in my place. Edmund looked at me with eyes which were begging me to help him one way or another to help get out of this situation yet what he said next reassured my opinion of him, "Listen to what he says. What would you do if something happens to me? If I get even a little bit hurt I'll make sure you and your regret that moment forever."

‘Like if I do whatever they say you are going to comeback harmless’ was the only thought I had. For a Noble who was able talk so big mouthed in front of a trafficker, he sure became timid really fast.

I took a step back as I lowered my head to avoid eye contact with either of them. A smirked appeared on the knight's face as he started walking towards the forest while keeping Edmund as a hostage. Edmund's face soon became as pale as a ghost as the distance between us increased and the fact that death is knocking on his door dawned upon him.
He started to panic and try to get away from the knight as he started to try to loosen the grip on the hold on his neck but he found that everything was for naught as no matter how much he struggled it was useless. The only outcome for his child like tantrum was the hold on his neck getting tighter and his chances becoming even more slimmer than they initially were. I let out a sigh at his stupid antics.

With his screams increasing more and more, I couldn't help but laugh a little.
After a few minutes of listening to him scream, I wiped the tears from the corners of my eyes as I took a deep breath and straightened my back and got ready for the chase.

...................................

Edmund and the knight were walking towards the west that means there are only two things that can happen, either they are disposing of him in secret but I don't think that is gonna happen so that means they are gonna torture him to tell the truth. Well, that is a simple and not so creative way but it’s still the most effective in my opinion and I don't really care about what your opinions are. (E/N: did you just break the fourth wall?)

As I approached the knight, he became more and more vigilant. That knight may be immature and really rude but he is good at his job. I don't really hate these kinds of people but he is still green and doesn't have an experience needed to go against me.

I ambushed them from the sides using the magical beasts and got them surrounded. Now let's see just how good this young imperial knight is.
