Eagle Nest Inn
The rest of the day was spent conspiring their plan to perfection. Halfway around the strike of noon on the grandfather clock in the corner of the room, Suga and Kookie were sent out to scout out on Lord Buxton's townhouse halfway across town.
They left, not donning their hanboks they had previously, but a fitted outfit of all black, thier red cloaks draping in sweeps down the sides of their bodies. Hiding the array of weapons within the layers of crimson.
How they moved so well with those heavy cloaks on, y/n did not know.
When the two boys left, the rest were left to do the other work.
Their plan ran a little like this:
First, after arriving by carriage, they would mingle among the guests and cement their place within the festivities of the ball. Mochi and V were the diplomats; making sure to distract the populace, and most importantly, Lord Buxton. This would allow Suga and y/n to slip away and find the mirror.
This is why they were paired together, for Suga's stealth and intel, but the possibility of y/n ability to possibly call to the Paradox Artifact. Much like she had accidentally done with the stone. They were not sure of this fact, yet they had to try.
J-Hope, Kookie, and RM would be running as eyes and watch for any threats. Positioning themselves in a triangular formation around the parameters of the ballroom. However, still involved with the festivities to not look suspicious. That way if something went wrong, and the communicators failed, they could easily be within the exits and three stairways.
Y/n had been rehearsing how to talk and withhold her fake paststory if she needed to tell it to suspecting guests. J-Hope had offered to help her, and she obliged, but also practiced talking with Jin and V.
The four of them sat in a circle of chairs, the mountains of clothing they had on falling to the floor like cloth rivers. They took turns pretending to be a guest and rehearsed their stories. Filling the air with words that were not true, but were made so convincing that the truth seemed to cling to the lies.
Later in the afternoon, y/n started to feel restless and stuffy in the unairconditioned room. Suga and Kookie had not yet returned, and the sun was beginning to poke through the grey that lingered outside. The woodpaneld houses and bustling street were a marvel to y/n eyes as she peered down to the street.
She really wanted to go outside and and experience this time period. This could be the last time.
All of the WRAITHS that remained were focused on their papers and plants in front of them, or slightly dozing off just like Mochi was in high chair. A blonde mop of his hair bobbing as he gently snored.
Gotta be sneaky.
Y/n slowly and quietly got up from where she was sitting by the window, lifting her skirt of her dress and making her way to the door.
She had no coin, nor any idea where she was going to go, but she was excited. The bubbles in her stomach built up and were bursting. Keeping her giddy emotions to herself, she slipped out the door, laying her back against the closed door and letting out a relieved breath.
The hot air of the stuffy room evaporated and the chill of the darkwood hallway settled against her skin. It was a relieving feeling.
She set of down the hall slowly, huddling her coat around her body. Taking in the candle light and reached the stairs. Stepping down slowly. Creaking noises underneath her shoes sounded softly.
